When people ask us to list the NFL players who routinely visit PFT, the names that usually come to mind first are offensive lineman.
Coincidentally, offensive linemen tend to be the smartest of all football players.
Just sayin’.
Most recently, Texans starting left right tackle Eric Winston has publicly declared his affinity for PFT in a Sporting News Today profile.
And Winston takes it all a step farther with a recent blog item in which he looks at our case for and against the rookie wage scale, from a player’s perspective.
Winston comes out against a true rookie wage scale, taking the position that the owners have created the current system, that the owners decide whether to use high draft picks, and that the owners agree to pay the high draft picks the money they receive.
More importantly, Winston says that he visits us “religiously every day (2 or 3 checks daily is mandatory).”
And then there’s this: “I consider PFT an authority on NFL matters.”
Eric, thanks for your candor.
The check is in the mail.
This time we mean it.
