Cincinnati’s Chad Johnson may have sent Pepto Bismol to the Cleveland secondary, but he called Browns’ receiver Quincy Morgan to offer words of encouragement.
“He’s a good man,” Morgan said. The two became friends during the 2001 draft combine, and were viewed as equals. Morgan was the 33rd overall pick, Johnson 36th. The loss of Kellen Winslow, instead of freeing up Morgan and the other receivers, has allowed defenses to focus more on stopping him. “I really don’t know why I haven’t been able to get the ball to Quincy more often,” QB Jeff Garcia said. “It’s something I’m aware of and would like to do more often. I’m going to continue to plug away and be confident in him and give him opportunities.”
