Pool F’s seeded duo is out of the Olympics.

Team USA’s Jake Gibb and Casey Patterson lost to Spain’s Adrian Gavira and Pablo Herrera in Wednesday’s beach volleyball action, dropping to 1-2.

The Spaniards took the first set 21-19 before Gibb and Patterson evened things with a 21-16 win, but the third set went decisively, 15-7.

Gavira and Herrera ascend Pool F, while Qatar’s Cherif Younousse or Jefferson Pereira beat Austrian pairing Alexander Huber and Robin Seidl. All passed Gibb and Patterson.
