U.S. Nordic combined skier Todd Lodwick crashed in a ski jump and was transported to a hospital to check for shoulder injuries in France on Friday, according to the International Ski Federation (FIS).
Lodwick, 37, qualified for a record sixth Winter Olympics for an American at the Nordic Combined Trials on Dec. 28.
Lodwick sustained an injury to his left shoulder and would undergo further medical evaluation, according to FIS Nordic Combined citing a U.S. Ski Team medical director.
“At the moment, we are planning on Todd competing in Sochi,” U.S. coach Dave Jarrett told Steamboat (Springs, Colo.) Today.
