USA men’s rugby sevens rebounds, blanks Brazil 26-0

The United States rebounded from its loss to Argentina with a 26-0 defeat of hosts Brazil in men’s rugby sevens on Tuesday.

The U.S. lost its first match in gut-wrenching fashion, coming from a 12-0 deficit to take a 14-12 lead and lose at the death.

The U.S. has to contend with mighty Fiji on Wednesday.

Folau Niua scored an early try and New England Patriots safety Nate Ebner added a second with the man advantage as the U.S. opened up a 14-0 lead at halftime.

Carlin Isles blazed around the right side to put the icing on the proverbial cake late, and Maka Unufe added one at the buzzer

Team captain Madison Hughes made three of four conversions.
