Ted Ligety rightly gained the nickname “Mr. GS” for his giant slalom work, but he’ll try to also gain some acclaim in the men’s slalom on Saturday. The first run goes at 7:45 a.m. ET while the second rolls at 11:15 a.m. ET:

Ligety and fellow U.S. Alpine skiers David Chodounsky and Nolan Kasper aren’t expected to be medal contenders, however, as the field is full of strong international competitors.

Veterans Giuliano Razzoli of Italy and Austria’s Benjamin Raich could pad their resumes a little more, but they’ll need to edge other contenders including Austrian Marcel Hirscher, German Felix Neureuther and Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen.
