Cristie Kerr – “We had never been down this much before. I didn’t know what to make of it. We knew we had to put a little pressure on ‘em. Thank God Lexi was in my group today. I struggled with ball-striking this second round. Finally hit two good shots and then we’re done.”
Lexi Thompson – “It definitely helps my confidence out a lot. I felt comfortable over the putter. Just a little fix that I made, made me a lot more comfortable over the putts and committing to my lines. That is what putting is all about. Oh, and having this one by my side pumping me up. She keeps saying, ‘knock ‘em in.’ That is all I need to hear.”
Thompson – “The last few weeks, I’ve been trying to go back to the old Lexi where I just aim up the right and hit a draw. That is where I free swung it and I’m just getting back to that. Just aim up the right and hit a draw.”

It is not easy for anyone. You have to remind yourself that this is not stroke play, it is match play. We still have some work to do tomorrow but we’re excited.”
