Top Three Nations in Team Finals Automatically Qualify for 2024 Paris Olympics

STAMFORD, Conn. – October 31, 2022 – 2020 Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Jade Carey, 2020 Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Jordan Chiles, and 2021 world bronze medalist Brody Malone headline NBC Sports’ coverage of the 2022 World Gymnastics Championships, beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 2 p.m. ET live exclusively on Peacock from Liverpool Arena in England.

Peacock will exclusively present live coverage of all finals throughout the week, concluding with the live apparatus finals on Sunday, Nov. 6, at 8:15 a.m. ET. NBC will present an encore presentation of highlights from the event on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Noon ET.

The U.S. women’s team is led by Carey, the Tokyo Olympics floor exercise gold medalist, and Chiles, who won a silver medal in the Tokyo team event and finished third in the all-around at the 2022 U.S. Championships. The U.S. team also features Paris Olympic hopeful Shilese Jones, who along with Carey qualified in the top three for the women’s all-around final this week.

On the international side, 2021 world vault champion and Tokyo Olympic vault champion Rebeca Andrade (Brazil), Tokyo Olympic beam silver medalist Tang Xijing (China), and Great Britain’s Jessica Gadirova and Alice Kinsella, both team bronze medalists at the Tokyo Olympics, are all expected to compete.

Tokyo Olympian and 10-time NCAA champion Malone highlights the U.S men’s team. Malone, the 2021 and 2022 all-around U.S. champion, will be up against a competitive international field that includes two-time Olympic gold medalist Daiki Hashimoto (Japan) and defending world all-around champion Zhang Boheng (China). 2021 Pommel Horse world champion Stephen Nedoroscik is also expected to compete for the Americans.

The top three nations in Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s team finals will automatically qualify for team spots in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Terry Gannon will provide play-by-play for all events. 2008 Beijing Olympic silver medalist Sam Peszek will serve as analyst for women’s team and all-around events, while 1984 Los Angeles Olympic gold medalist Tim Daggett will serve as analyst for men’s team and all-around events. 2016 Rio Olympic gold medalist Laurie Hernandez will provide analysis for the apparatus finals, while three-time Olympian John Roethlisberger will serve as reporter for all events.
