Digital Consumption of NBA Playoffs up Triple Digits
Local MLB Streaming Nearly Doubles Year-Over-Year in First Month of Season
STAMFORD, Conn. – May 14, 2018 – Led by record digital consumption of the NBA Playoffs, as well as a strong first month of the MLB season, NBC Sports Regional Networks registered its most-streamed month ever in April, delivering 111 million minutes consumed, up 63% over the previous record (67 million in April 2017).

Through the 2017-2018 NBA regular season for the Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers, Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers, Washington Wizards, Golden State Warriors, and Boston Celtics, and including the first round of the NBA Playoffs, NBC Sports Regional Networks streamed more than 245 million live minutes across 1.52 million unique devices, respective 47% and 105% increases from last year. Live streaming of the NBA Playoffs (76ers, Trail Blazers, Wizards, Warriors and Celtics) garnered nearly 22.3 million live minutes, up 108% year-over-year.
Overall, NBC Sports Philadelphia saw the most significant growth with its coverage of the 76ers, more than quadrupling both minutes streamed and uniques, 324% and 335%, respectively. In the first full season streaming Trail Blazers games, NBC Sports Northwest saw more than 8 million minutes streamed.

LOCAL MLB STREAMING NEARLY DOUBLES 2017 IN FIRST MONTH OF SEASON
NBC Sports Regional Networks’ streaming of local market MLB games for the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, New York Mets, San Francisco Giants and Oakland A’s totaled more than 62.7 million live minutes across 442,000 unique devices in the first month of the season, up 86% and 79%, respectively, compared to last April. SNY’s coverage of the Mets leads NBC Sports’ RSNs, and has delivered more than 22 million total live minutes across 133,000 unique devices.

NHL COVERAGE EXPERIENCES RECORD STREAMING IN 2017-18 SEASON
In the second full season of live, local NHL streaming, NBC Sports Regional Networks experienced double-digit growth in consumption. Through the 2017-2018 NHL regular season for the Chicago Blackhawks, Philadelphia Flyers, San Jose Sharks and Washington Capitals, in addition to the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the Flyers, Sharks and Capitals, NBC Sports Regional Networks delivered 80.4 million total live minutes, across 554,000 unique devices, up 68% and 97%, respectively, compared to 2016-2017 (47.8 million total live minutes, 281,000 unique devices). Streaming on connected TVs saw the most significant growth, up 141% in minutes consumed and up 351% in uniques.
Across the RSNs, NBC Sports Philadelphia’s digital coverage of the Philadelphia Flyers contributed the most to the season total, earning 32.9 million live minutes across 221,000 unique devices, up 184% and 251%, respectively, compared to 2016-2017. NBC Sports Washington delivered three of the five most-streamed games, including the most-streamed Game 3 of the Capitals - Blue Jackets series.
