NBC SPORTS PRESENTS LIVE COVERAGE OF PREMIERSHIP RUGBY FINAL THIS WEEKEND FEATURING WASPS V. EXETER CHIEFS SATURDAY AT 9:30 A.M. ET ON NBCSN

Leigh Diffey and Alex Corbisiero Anchor Studio Coverage from Monaco; Dan Lyle Reporting On-Site at Twickenham Stadium in London

STAMFORD, Conn. – May 25, 2017 – NBC Sports presents live coverage of the 2017 Aviva Premiership Rugby Final this weekend from Twickenham Stadium in London, England, as Wasps face Exeter Chiefs for the title on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. ET on NBCSN

NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app – NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices, tablets, and connected TVs – will provide streaming coverage of the Wasps-Chiefs Final. Streaming will also be available on NBC Sports Gold — NBC Sports Digital’s direct-to-consumer live streaming product.

Leigh Diffey, who is handling the play-by-play of the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix this weekend, will anchor studio coverage from Monaco alongside analyst and former Premiership Rugby player Alex Corbisiero. Former USA Rugby captain and Premiership Rugby player Dan Lyle will serve as the on-site reporter from Twickenham Stadium in London. Nick Mullins will lead the game commentary team alongside analysts Ben Kaye and Austin Healey.

Wasps finished in first place in the regular season for the first time since the 1996-97 season and are seeking their first Premiership title since 2007-08. Chiefs are unbeaten in their last 16 Aviva Premiership Rugby matches, and with a victory in the Final, they would match Leicester Tigers’ all-time record set between 1999 and 2000. Chiefs have never won the Premiership title, and are in the Final for the second consecutive season. Exeter lost to Saracens in the Final last year, but defeated them, 18-16, last weekend to advance to the title match this weekend.

Wasps and Chiefs were the highest scoring teams in the Premiership this season. Wasps set a Premiership record for a 22-game season with 89 tries, led by Premiership Player of the Year Jimmy Gopperth, who had a regular season league-high 266 points. In addition, Wasps’ Christian Wade matched Dominic Chapman’s 20-year-old try-scoring record with 17 tries this season. Chiefs had a diversified, but dominant attack this season as well, with the second-most points-per-game and two of the league’s top five try scorers (James Short and Olly Woodburn). In their last match, Wasps and Chiefs played to a 35-35 draw.
