Pirates sent RHP Rookie Davis outright to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Davis has been on the shelf since early June due to a blister on his pitching hand and tightness in his right forearm. He’s now off of the 40-man roster and unlikely to return this season. The 26-year-old hurler has posted a 6.75 ERA and 1.88 WHIP in 10 2/3 innings with the Pirates this season.

Pirates transferred RHP Rookie Davis to to 60-day injured list.
Nothing has changed in the recovery process for the injured hurler, this was merely done as a procedural move to free up a spot on the 40-man roster for Parker Markel. Davis has been sidelined since early June due to a blister on his pitching hand and tightness in his right forearm.

Rookie Davis (forearm) has resumed throwing at the Pirates’ spring training complex in Bradenton, Florida.
He’s just playing catch on flat ground for now. Davis landed on the injured list on June 8 with a blister on his pitching hand and then came down with tightness in his right forearm during a minor league rehab assignment. He could potentially return to the Pirates’ bullpen around the end of July if he is able to avoid further setbacks.

Rookie Davis has been shut down from throwing due to tightness in his right forearm.
Davis is currently on a rehab assignment due to a blister on his finger, but he’s developed a new injury while rehabbing from that issue. He’ll need to make at least one more start in the minors before he’s ready to go, and that won’t be able to take place until early July, now. Davis likely doesn’t return to Pittsburgh until around the All-Star break, at this point.

Rookie Davis (finger) will make another rehab appearance for Triple-A Indianapolis.
Davis made an appearance on Sunday for Triple-A Indianapolis and went three innings with two strikeouts while allowing one run. He’s been on the injured list since June 8 due to a blister on his finger. The details on when Davis will pitch again are unknown, but he should be back with the Pirates -- assuming there are no setbacks -- by the end of the month.

Pirates placed RHP Rookie Davis on the 10-day injured list with a finger blister.
He developed a blister on his right middle finger while giving up three runs in three innings against the Brewers on Friday.

Rookie Davis lasted just three innings and allowed three runs Friday in his start against the Brewers.
Davis walked five, and he just doesn’t have the stuff to get away with putting that many men on base. The Pirates might stick with him in the rotation, but they’re going to need to do better soon.

Rookie Davis will start for the Pirates on Friday in Milwaukee.
Nick Kingham and his 8.91 season ERA have been bumped to the bullpen. Davis owns a career 7.96 ERA in 31 2/3 innings (six starts, five relief appearances) at the major league level and should not be trusted in any fantasy format against a dangerous Brewers offense.

Pirates purchased the contract of RHP Rookie Davis from Triple-A Indianapolis.
The 26-year-old right-hander will replace Chris Stratton as the long man in the Pirates’ bullpen. He hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since 2017, and has compiled a troublesome 5.35 ERA and 1.51 WHIP across 37 innings in seven starts at Triple-A. He should be avoided completely for fantasy purposes.

Rookie Davis pitched a pair of hitless innings against a Blue Jays split-squad on Friday.
Davis was limited to 26 innings in the minors last season after recovering from hip surgery. Before he got hurt in 2017, there was some hope he’d turn into a fifth starter or a middle reliver for the Reds. He’ll have to go back to Triple-A to prove himself again after signing a minor league deal with Pittsburgh, but he could resurface with the Pirates later this year.
