Neither player was projected to be in the rotation so there are no fantasy implications here.

He’ll be an emergency depth guy on the bench, so there’s nothing to see here in terms of fantasy hoops.

Broekhoff’s wife tested positive for COVID-19, and she’s considered “high risk,” so he’ll be staying at home with his family during the restarted season.

Ryan added that his wife is considered high risk and that his focus understandably needs to be with his family right now. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Broekhoff family and we’ll provide updates as they come in.

There is no additional information yet so there’s no point in speculating about his availability in Orlando. The 76ers could use another shooter but Broekhoff is only looking at a handful of minutes at best.

Teams are steadily filling out their rosters during the transaction window, prior to arriving in Orlando and getting prepped for the season’s resumption. Broekhoff is a perimeter threat who might get a handful of situational minutes, but that’s about it.

Broekhoff has been getting a handful of minutes at the end of Dallas’ bench but would’ve been buried on the depth chart upon Luka Doncic’s (ankle) return. There’s no guarantee that the 29-year-old Broekhoff will be picked up by another team.

Kristaps Porzingis was resting tonight, so Mavs went with a frontcourt of Willie Cauley-Stein, Maxi Kleber and Dorian Finney-Smith. It was a surprise to see Broekhoff start Friday’s game in the first place, and anyone who grabbed him can move on to the next intriguing free agent.

It was a major stunner that Broekhoff got his first start of his NBA career, and there’s a good chance that it was about the matchup against James Harden and Russell Westbrook. We’ll see if he even plays at all in the back-to-back set on Saturday, and right now he’s only a stream in deep leagues.

He played in his first game on Tuesday since returning from a left fibula fracture, but saw just eight minutes with five points, one triple and one rebound. This is an odd move from coach Rick Carlisle, and we’re obviously not running to the wire to grab Broekhoff with this news since Delon Wright, Jalen Brunson and Seth Curry should see decent burn off the bench.
