Scottie Lewis underwent surgery on Thursday to repair a fracture in his lower left leg.
The injury occurred during the team’s first Summer League practice yesterday. Lewis was the 56th pick in the 2021 draft, but he spent most of his rookie season in the G-League. He played a total of six minutes across two games, finishing with one point, one assist, and one steal. This injury will set him back, but it’s unlikely that he would’ve contributed in fantasy hoops this season anyway.

Scottie Lewis (return to competition conditioning) is available for Wednesday’s meeting with the Pistons.
The Hornets are nearly fully healthy now, which means Scottie Lewis is miles off the fantasy radar.

P.J. Washington (return to competition conditioning) is available for Wednesday’s game against the Pistons.
With he and Scottie Lewis (also conditioning) officially available, Charlotte’s injury report only has Vernon Carey Jr. remaining. Washington has missed his last four games so we may have to expect a bit of rust, but he was playing well enough before the matter to be rostered and starting nearly everywhere.

Scottie Lewis (health and safety protocols) will not play in Monday’s game against Washington.
Lewis has still not cleared quarantine, so he is not available for Monday’s game. He was not a fantasy target, so no one should be waiting on his return.

Scottie Lewis entered the NBA’s health & safety protocols on Monday.
Lewis is not a rotation player for the Hornets, so this won’t impact fantasy hoops, but he’ll need to miss at least the next seven days.

Scottie Lewis has been recalled from the Greensboro Swarm, according to Hornets reporter Rod Boone.
Lewis, the 56th pick in the 2021 draft, has yet to see the court for the Hornets, as the two-way player has spent his entire season with the G-League Greensboro Swarm. With LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier both out due to health and safety protocols, the Florida product has a chance to crack the rotation, though he’s not likely to be fantasy relevant any time soon.

Kai Jones scored a modest 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting (1-of-2 3-pointers) with nine rebounds, one block, and three turnovers in 28 minutes as the Hornets lost to the Bulls 99-74 on Monday evening.
Kai Jones is one of the most intriguing rookie prospects because of his upside and the physical tools that he possesses. Now, this is not to say that Jones will make a huge splash in year one, but down the line, Jones could be a diamond in the rough because of his versatility, his motor, and his ability to stretch the floor. The Hornets also got 15 points and nine rebounds out of rookie JT Thor our of Auburn, including a dunk that will be on highlight’s everywhere. Scottie Lewis also chipped in 16 points with four rebounds and three blocks, but the Hornets will leave Vegas with no wins this summer, which has to be a bit discouraging.

Scottie Lewis (sprained right ankle) will not suit up for Monday’s Summer League game vs. Sacramento.
Lewis logged 20 minutes in his Las Vegas debut on Sunday, so hopefully, this is a relatively minor ankle issue and the Hornets are just being cautious with him on the second leg of a back-to-back. After today’s game they don’t take the floor again until Thursday, so maybe, Lewis will be able to get back for that one.

The Hornets took SG Scottie Lewis with the 56th pick in the draft.
The Florida shooting guard returned to school for his sophomore season after almost entering last year’s draft but it didn’t make much a difference. Once thought to be a lottery pick, he just kind of fizzled for Florida. But there is still a ton of upside here and almost no risk involved, so it will be interesting to see him develop going forward.

Florida shooting guard Scottie Lewis announced Monday that he will return to school for his sophomore season.
Lewis entered college as one of the top incoming freshmen in the country, and it was expected that after one season in Gainesville he would be a lottery pick this summer. But the 6-foot-5, 185-pound guard struggled, finishing the year with averages of 8.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 1.2 steals, 1.2 blocks and 0.7 3-pointers per game. To Lewis’ credit he gave an honest assessment of himself in announcing his decision to return to school, foregoing the opportunity to even test the waters to instead focus on preparing for next season.
