The Grizzlies have signed Shaq Buchanan to a 10-day contract.
The Grizzlies used hardship exemptions to sign two players on Saturday, Buchanan and Tyrell Terry. Buchanan was with the Grizzlies during training camp, and the former college teammate of Ja Morant has seen the majority of his playing time as a pro in the G League.

The Grizzlies have waived Shaq Buchanan.
Buchanan suited up for Memphis at Summer League and spent some time with the team at camp, but he was always a long-shot to make the regular-season roster and now he’ll likely be taking his talents to the G League.

Shaq Buchanan scored 21 points on 9-of-19 shooting (2-of-8 3-pointers) with two rebounds, one assist and two steals in 22 minutes as the Grizzlies defeated the Clippers 104-95 in summer league action on Monday night.

Buchanan was one of five Grizzlies in double figured on Monday night joined by Sam Merrill, Olivier Sarr, Ahmad Caver, and Anthony Cowan Jr. Merrill scored 20 points on 8-of-16 shooting (3-of-7 3-pointers) with five rebounds, three assists, and one steal. Sarr got himself a double-double with 18 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, and one turnover, while Caver scored 11 points and Cowan chipped in 10 in the win.

Shaq Buchanan has agreed to a contract with the Grizzlies.
Buchanan was one of Ja Morant’s teammates at Murray State and he also played for the Grizzlies Summer League squad. He’ll likely get cut prior to the start of the season and head to Memphis’ G-League affiliate, though, so he’s completely off the radar in fantasy hoops.
