Bournemouth has been hit with another big blow, as captain Tommy Elphick has been ruled out for ten weeks after undergoing ankle surgery.
The Cherries return from the international break this weekend and face Manchester City, followed by a tough stretch of matches against Tottenham, Liverpool, and Southampton.

Elphick hasn’t played since Bournemouth’s loss to Norwich City on September 12, and manager Eddie Howe said he tried to come back but couldn’t recover without having a procedure.
Tommy has had an operation on his ankle.
He’s facing around ten weeks out. It was innocuous really – he got a kick on the ankle and despite many attempts to come back, it just didn’t feel right.
With further investigation, it was discovered that he needed an operation and he’s had it.
In Bournemouth’s first season in the Premier League, the Cherries have been riddled by injuries, all to key players.
Tyrone Mings, Max Gradel, and Callum Wilson are all likely to miss the remainder of the season after suffering ACL injuries. Mings and Gradel became the club’s two most expensive signings when they joined Bournemouth this summer, and Wilson was the Premier League’s leading goalscorer at the time of his injury.
