Seems once Jose Mourinho’s done with you, he’s done with you.
Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne could not get playing time under Mourinho while with Chelsea in 2013-14, and ended up going on loan to Werder Bremen before making his hey at Wolfsburg and subsequently finding his way to the Etihad.

De Bruyne claims that once he questioned why he wasn’t getting on the pitch for Chelsea, he ceased to get any respect from the Special One.
The winger claims he had a grand total of two conversations with Mourinho in two months, the final one being a, “Hey man, you gotta get me out of here.”
From The Telegraph:“I didn’t get any explanation,” De Bruyne said. “I only talked with him twice, Mourinho.”
“That was before the Champions League game against Basel, where he said I was doing better, in his opinion and that I would get my chance. I think that was maybe November.
“And then one week before January, that’s the day I said I wanted to go out because even if I was training better, I was not getting any minutes.”
Seems a bit of piling on, but we digress from the main point, which is that luckily for De Bruyne (and Man City... and Wolfsburg’s cash register), it’s turned out well. He’s a wanted man at his new club, which sits well above his old club on the table this early season.
