Daniel Sturridge will be spending Christmas in Boston, as the Liverpool forward aims to speed up his recovery and return from injury.
Sturridge has spent time in Los Angeles recently as he has been working to recover from a nagging thigh injury, and the England international will now return to the U.S. over the festive period to work with medical specialists at the Boston Red Sox as well as Liverpool’s head of conditioning, Glenn Driscoll.

The 25-year-old has only played three Premier League games this season and is not expected to play before January as he has suffered multiple set backs with thigh and calf issues since initially being injured on international duty back in September.
So, why the Red Sox’s?
Well, American businessman John W Henry owns them as well as fronting the Fenway Sports Group consortium who own Liverpool Football Club. The link up between Liverpool and the Red Sox saw the former play AS Roma at Fenway Park during their preseason tour of the USA in 2014 and Sturridge is willing to make the most of whatever connections Liverpool have that will help him return to the pitch quicker.
After Luis Suarez’s $128 million departure to Barcelona over the summer, Sturridge was earmarked as Liverpool’s main goal threat but has scored just once in the PL and that goal came on the opening day before injuries ruined his season so far. Liverpool have badly missed their star man who bagged 21 goals in the PL last season, as they have scored just 19 times in their first 16 matches and sit in 11th place in the PL, 18 points off league leaders Chelsea.
Watching their seventh defeat of the season from LA on Sunday (a 3-0 humbling by bitter rivals Manchester United) Sturridge posted the following message on Twitter as he continues his recovery Stateside.
