MLS Snapshot: FC Dallas 1-2 LA Galaxy (video)
The game in 100 words (or less): Winning on the road in Major League Soccer, as we note nearly every time it’s done, is no small task. So, for the LA Galaxy to go on the road and knock off a high-flying, playoff-bound FC Dallas side (five league wins in their last six games) at Toyota Stadium is the kind of result that championship-winning teams look back on at the end of the season and say, “That was a turning point.” Robbie Keane, playing in his 100th MLS game, bagged a pair of goals just after the halftime break to lead the defending champions back from a 1-0 halftime deficit. With the victory, the Bruce Arena’s side (43 points) are your new leaders in the Western Conference. Meanwhile, FCD slip to fourth in the West after Sporting Kansas City’s dramatic comeback victory moments before the final whistle in Frisco.
Three moments that mattered
33' — Barrios round Ricketts and gives FCD a first-half lead — Michael Barrios now has three league goals in FCD’s last three games (all four goals scored this season have come in FCD’s last six games). In the 33rd minute, Barrios rounded Donovan Rickets — with a little help from Galaxy defender AJ DeLaGarza — and slid the ball into an empty net.

56' — Keane heads home his 66th goal in 100 MLS appearances — Keane is re-writing the record books almost as quickly as I re-write this game recap. Keane’s second of the night — also scored with his head — came courtesy of Giovani dos Santos, who saw his initial shot on a lightning-quick counter attack saved by Dan Kennedy. The ball fell back to the feet of Dos Santos, however, he chipped it to the back post and Keane was waiting once again.
