New York manager Mike Petke laments Sunday’s loss
New York Red Bulls manager nailed it when he said these weren’t a bunch of rookies who blew it late against Chicago.
Carrying a 1-1 tie into the final minutes Sunday at Toyota Park, just a few short minutes from sneaking out of Bridgeview, Ill., with a point in hand. (Which wouldn’t be bad, considering the Fire had missed a first-half penalty kick.)
But the defending wasn’t good enough in the end, and Luis Robles’ goalkeeping certainly wasn’t good enough. (He has questions to answer about the Fire’s first and third goals.)
