WATCH: U.S. back Lichaj nets first Forest goal in 83 games

Eric Lichaj pulled his shirt over his head and celebrated like mad; Anyone who told Nottingham Forest’s American-born back to “Act like you’ve been there before” would have missed one key component.

He hadn’t.

Lichaj, 26, netted his first Forest goal in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw vs. Burnley. At about 1:07 of the above video, the 83rd minute goal was a worthy one, as Lichaj coolly aimed home from just outside the 18.

The goal came in his 83rd appearance for the Reds. It was also Lichaj’s first goal in 93 appearances in England’s Championship division, where he’s appeared both for Forest and Leeds United.

Lichaj, of course, started his England adventure with Aston Villa in the Premier League, fresh from his only season at the University of North Carolina. He scored two goals for Villa, one in the PL, in 42 appearances.

He’s also 10-times capped by the U.S., and really deserves another look. having made two appearances in 2011, six in 2012, and two in 2014.
