Akingbesote

A four-year contributor for Maryland, Akingbesote (6'3/306) is more of a “traits” prospect than proven producer. Reasonably young (he turned 22 in February), Akingbesote is a former basketball player who looks like it from an athletic perspective. His technique and strength could both use some work, however. He is a classic late seventh-round “toolsy” flier more than likely producer. Akingbesote will probably spend most of 2025 on the practice squad attempting to develop.

Akingbesote (6'4/270) additionally held offers from the likes of Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech and Syracuse. The Upper Marlboro, Maryland, native is still working to tap into his upside, as he just began playing varsity ball last season and remains relatively unpolished. He’ll need to continue to hone his technique and approach for the collegiate level. Added bulk will be necessary as well. On the 247Sports composite board, Akingbesote lands as the No. 342 overall prospect in the 2021 class.
