The Kings have waived Tyler Ulis.
He was never expected to make the team, but catching a groin injury solidified his fate. Ulis will likely head to the G-League.
  • ORL Point Guard #10
Cory Joseph (calf), Hollis Thompson (hip), Tyler Ulis (groin) and Tyler Lydon (hip) will all sit out Wednesday’s preseason finale against Melbourne United.
Joseph said he’ll be fine for the regular-season opener, but neither he nor Lydon is expected to make an impact in fantasy hoops this season. Thompson and Ulis are unlikely to make the team.
  • SAC Power Forward #41
Tyler Lydon (right hip inflammation), Hollis Thompson (right hip) and Tyler Ulis (groin) have been ruled out for Monday’s exhibition game against the Jazz.
The Kings will also be without Trevor Ariza (lipoma), Harry Giles (knee) and Cory Joseph (calf), so the B-squad in Sacramento could receive a good amount of minutes tonight.
  • FA Point Guard #15
Tyler Ulis (right groin strain) is out again on Sunday.
Ulis isn’t a fantasy option even at full strength, so his absence won’t impact your drafts.
  • FA Point Guard #15
Tyler Ulis (right groin strain) will not play vs. the Suns on Thursday.
Harry Giles (sore left knee) and Cory Joseph (sore right calf) are also unavailable for the Kings, though their absence shouldn’t have a major impact on coach Luke Walton’s rotations. None of them are being drafted in 12-team fantasy leagues.
  • FA Point Guard #15
Tyler Ulis (groin) did not practice on Tuesday.
Ulis inked a training camp deal with the Kings towards the end of September, but he was a long shot to make the regular-season roster, and him already being banged up won’t help him. Ulis is safe to ignore in all leagues.
  • FA Point Guard #15
Tyler Ulis has signed a training camp deal with the Kings.
Sacramento already has three point guards on the books on guaranteed deals, so it’ll be tough for Ulis to make the regular-season roster.
  • FA Point Guard #15
The Bulls will waive Tyler Ulis.
He has been dealing with a hip injury and will have arthroscopic hip surgery. Ulis showed some promise in his rookie year, but his lack of size is a tough obstacle to overcome at the highest level.
  • LAC Point Guard #8
An MRI revealed a moderate left MCL sprain for Kris Dunn and he is expected to miss the next 4-6 weeks of action.
Dunn doesn’t have a history of knee issues, but he has had a tough time staying on the court over the past few years, and he could be on the longer end of this timetable considering winning games isn’t necessarily a priority for the Bulls this season. Cameron Payne, Ryan Arcidiacono, Tyler Ulis and Shaquille Harrison will divvy up the PG minutes in Chicago, but none of those guys are great targets in most settings. Look for Zach LaVine to spend more time running the offense in Dunn’s absence.
  • NYK Point Guard #1
Cameron Payne will return to the starting lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Hornets.
Kris Dunn (knee) is out for the next 4-6 weeks, so Payne will be filling in as the defacto starter, and he’ll split the PG duties with Ryan Arcidiacono, Tyler Ulis and Shaquille Harrison. Head coach Fred Hoiberg did hint that Harrison could see some increased opportunity tonight, but it’s tough to see any of these guys truly emerging with any real value, as this will likely be a PG-by-committee approach.
