White Sox claimed OF Willy Garcia off waivers from the Pirates.
Garcia has flashed some upside in the minors, but he’s coming off a season where he batted just .245/.293/.366 with six homers in his first full year at Triple-A. The 24-year-old is likely in line for more seasoning even with the White Sox’ dire outfield situation.

Pirates designated OF Willy Garcia for assignment.
This was done as the corresponding roster move to the Ivan Nova signing. The 24-year-old outfielder hit .245/.293/.366 with six homers, 43 RBI and five stolen bases in 499 plate appearances at Triple-A Indianapolis in 2016. There’s a decent chance he passes through waivers unclaimed and remains in the Pirates’ organization.

White Sox recalled OF Willy Garcia from Triple-A Charlotte.
He’ll take Jacob May’s spot on the active roster. Garcia went 2-for-7 in a brief stint with the White Sox last month. We could see another all-Garcia outfield at some point soon.

White Sox optioned OF Willy Garcia to Triple-A Charlotte.
The move was made prior to Monday’s game, as Melky Cabrera returned from the paternity list. Garcia went 2-for-7 during his brief stay with the team.

White Sox recalled outfielder Willy Garcia from Triple-A Charlotte.
Garcia, who was claimed off waivers from the Pirates in January, was off to a .423/.559/.692 start in seven games for Charlotte. He typically has major plate discipline issues to go along with middling power and mediocre batting averages. It’s possible that’s all changed after seven games in Charlotte, but we doubt it. The plan is for him to head back to Triple-A once Melky Cabrera returns, but as wide open as things are in Chicago right now, a couple of good games could change that.

Leury Garcia left Thursday’s game against the Mariners with a bruised right elbow.
Garcia came out after taking a pitch off his elbow in the fifth inning. Willy Garcia has come on to take his place in center field. The White Sox are calling him day-to-day. Garcia went 0-for-1 with a walk and a stolen base before exiting.

Avisail Garcia has been scratched from the White Sox starting lineup on Tuesday night.
No word yet on the reason for the sudden change. Willy Garcia is now starting in right field and batting seventh versus Diamondbacks left-hander Patrick Corbin.

RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant: The Diamondbacks are the clear team of interest offensively in this one, but the White Sox have some appeal as well in hitter friendly Chase Field. Patrick Corbin has been much better at home this season compared to last, but he’s still allowing plenty of hard contact to RHs at home (35.9 hard%) and it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see a few of the Chicago RH bats post mouthwatering fantasy totals here. A surging Tim Anderson, Jose Abreu and Todd Frazier are all fine targets.

Leury Garcia (hand) is out of the White Sox lineup again on Wednesday.
Garcia injured his left hand on a slide into second base Sunday and hasn’t played since, but X-rays came up negative and this still doesn’t sound like a DL situation. Willy Garcia will start in center field and bat ninth for the White Sox on Wednesday night against the Orioles.

Leury Garcia (hand) remains out of the White Sox starting lineup on Thursday afternoon.
Garcia has been sidelined since jamming his left hand on a slide into second base Sunday. Willy Garcia will draw another start in center field and bat ninth Thursday versus Orioles right-hander Chris Tillman.

Avisail Garcia was ejected for arguing Thursday against the Orioles.
He took exception to a check-swing strike three in the fifth inning and was quickly tossed by first base umpire Paul Emmel. White Sox manager Rick Renteria also got the heave-ho. Garcia went 2-for-3 before his ejection. Willy Garcia replaced him in right field with Leury Garcia taking over in center.
