Phoenix Mercury vs Minnesota Lynx Game Preview:

The Phoenix Mercury are coming off a 106-58 loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Saturday. It was the third-biggest blowout in league history and the Mercury’s third straight loss.

“The reality is, we can’t have any more of these,” said Mercury head coach Nate Tibbetts after the game. “It’s time for us to make a move if we’re going to make a move. You don’t want to come out and play like that. Extremely disappointed for everyone involved — the players, the staff, the organization, the fans, everybody. That was completely unacceptable.”

The Mercury, now 8-16, own the worst 24-game start by a reigning finalist in WNBA history.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Lynx, currently 17-6, hold the league’s best record after Saturday’s 90-85 victory over the New York Liberty. Kayla McBride led Minnesota with 25 points — 14 of which came in the fourth quarter.

Olivia Miles, who returned to the lineup after missing two games with a calf injury, added 23 points in the win.

Miles, who was the second overall pick in this year’s draft, leads all rookies in minutes, points, and assists per game. She will be making her All-Star debut as a starter in Chicago later this month.
