With Minnesota releasing guard Yvonne Anderson on Saturday, the franchise had an open roster spot to work with. They’ve decided to add Sherrod, who was waived by the Liberty on August 1 to make room for Emma Meesseman. Sherrod appeared in 28 games in her two seasons with New York, averaging 1.5 points in 5.0 minutes.
  • The 35-year-old Anderson went through training camp with the Sun but was waived just before the season began. Anderson has not appeared in a WNBA game since 2022, but she spent last season with Turkish club CBK Mersin and represented Serbia at last month’s FIBA Women’s EuroBasket. The season prior, Anderson played for Fenerbahce, where she’d been teammates with current Lynx stars Napheesa Collier and Kayla McBride in the past.
  • The Sun finalized their roster for the 2025 season on Thursday, with DeShields and Anderson being the final cuts. In the case of the former, her career accomplishments likely make Connecticut’s decision a surprising one. After missing the 2023 season with a knee injury, DeShields appeared in 32 games for the Chicago Sky in 2024, making 10 starts. As for Anderson, she was looking to work her way back into the WNBA after having last played an official game during the 2022 season. With the Sun recently signing veteran Bria Hartley, Anderson’s chances of making the team decreased.
