Zylan Cheatham was waived by the Pelicans on Saturday.
Cheatham played for multiple teams on 10-day deals last season, including New Orleans. He signed a training camp deal with them in September and will likely play with their G-League team, the Birmingham Squadron, this season.

Zylan Cheatham has signed with the New Orleans Pelicans according to Spotrac’s Keith Smith.
Cheatham will provide forward depth, but he’s not considered a fantasy factor heading into the season. New Orleans’ depth at both forward spots will limit Cheatham’s time on the court, if he sees much at all.

  • TOR Forward-Center #54
Sandro Mamukelashvili looked good yet again in Wednesday’s win over the Timberwolves, double-doubling to the tune of 18 points (6-of-13 FGs) and 15 rebounds, adding four dimes, two blocks, two 3-pointers and five turnovers in 31 minutes.
Mamu is coming off of a 28-point game with a huge line last time out, and while it’s only July, he’s making a case for playing time in the NBA. That being said, the sad truth still remains: It would take an injury to Bobby Portis or Brook Lopez (or maybe both) for him to crack the rotation on a loaded Milwaukee squad, but his stat lines in Vegas and on a couple occasions in the NBA show what he’s capable of for fantasy purposes. There’s no reason to put him on your draft boards for the time being, but we’ll let you know if there’s any indication this offseason of him playing meaningful minutes come October -- just don’t count on it. No. 24 overall pick MarJon Beauchamp (15/6/2 with four triples), Rayjon Tucker (14/3/5/1/1), Lindell Wigginton (14 points, six dimes, four treys) and Zylan Cheatham (14/6/2/2/1) also reached double figures in the scoring column in Wednesday’s victory.

The New Orleans Pelicans are signing guard Miye Oni to a 10-day deal via the COVID hardship exemption.
Oni and Zylan Cheatham will both get a brief stint with the Pelicans, but you can safely ignore them both as there’s no telling if they’ll even get minutes.

The New Orleans Pelicans are signing forward Zylan Cheatham to a 10-day contract via the COVID hardship exemption.
He had a 10-day contract with Utah earlier this month but played five whopping minutes in one game, so he’s a negligible fantasy option.

The Utah Jazz are signing Zylan Cheatham to a 10-day hardship deal, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Cheatham signed a 10-day with the Heat, but never checked into a game for Miami. He will now head to Utah, where he still likely won’t get much playing time, but he will serve as an able body. He is nowhere near a fantasy target.

  • FA Small Forward #45
Zylan Cheatham has entered the league’s health and safety protocols, the team announced on Wednesday.
Cheatham was signed by the Heat on a 10-day contract on the 21st, but has yet to check into any of the three games the Heat have played since he was signed. The Heat, as it currently stands, only have seven active bodies for Wednesday’s game against San Antonio, and the league requirement is eight so look for them to sign another player out of the G-League soon.

The Miami Heat have signed Zylan Cheatham to a 10-day contract on Tuesday, per Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Heat are plagued by injuries, but not with guys in league protocols like the rest of the league. Cheatham may get some opportunity, but he’s only played in four NBA games, so he’s not worth picking up yet.

Zylan Cheatham has been sent to Oklahoma City as part of the four-team trade headlined by Jrue Holiday.
Cheatham barely played during his time with the Pelicans, so he may have a shot at earning some minutes in Oklahoma City as the Thunder rebuild. But it won’t be enough to make him a viable option in any format.
