    Redskins waived/injured OG Arie Kouandjio.
He’ll revert to injured reserve after going down with a torn quad at OTAs. The Redskins signed OL Isaiah Williams to replace Kouandjio.
  • FA Tackle #60
Redskins sophomore OG Arie Kouandjio added 15 pounds this offseason.
A fourth-round pick last year, Kouandjio played just one snap on offense as a rookie, but he should push for a bigger role this year. There have been rumblings about LG Spencer Long switching to center, which would open a spot for Kouandjio. Washington has the makings of a solid offensive line, but they have to find a way to create more push in the running game this season.
  • FA Tackle #60
Redskins waived/released OG Arie Kouandjio, DL Brandon Banks, TE E.J. Bibbs, C Lucas Crowley, WR Robert Davis, WR Maurice Harris, WR Matt Hazel, RB Kenny Hilliard, CB Tevin Homer, WR Levern Jacobs, OT John Kling, CB Jeremiah McKinnon, OL Kendall Pace, OT Vinston Painter, WR Zach Pascal C Ronald Patrick, DL Ondre Pipkins, LB Pete Robertson, WR Jamari Staples, LB Ron Thompson Jr. LB Lynden Trail, LB Zach Vigil and OL Isaiah Williams.
The No. 112 overall pick of the 2015 draft, Kouandjio ended up making only eight regular season appearances. He was ineffective in two 2016 starts. 2017 is Kouandjio’s age-25 campaign.
  • FA Guard #61
Spencer Long has taken all of the first-team snaps at left guard in Redskins’ practice this week.
The season-ending ankle injury to Shawn Lauvao opened up a starting spot on the offensive line. Long appears to the favorite to fill it, but rookie Arie Kouandjio could get looks as well. Long opened up training camp at the starter at right guard but was quickly demoted.
  • FA Tackle #60
Redskins selected Alabama G Arie Kouandjio with the No. 112 overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft.
Kouandjio (6'5/310) made 27 starts for the Crimson Tide, shaking off early-career knee woes to earn first-team All SEC as a senior. He is the brother of Bills 2014 second-round pick Cyrus Kouandjio, and like his sibling is tight hipped and athletically deficient. Arie was a maddeningly inconsistent blocker on college tape, almost to the point of being undisciplined. Although Kouandjio has ideal dimensions for an NFL lineman, his inability to execute on a repetitive basis makes him a long shot to develop into a stable starter at guard or tackle.
  • FA Tackle #60
Redskins OG Arie Kouandjio suffered a torn quad and will miss the season.
Kouandjio was among the Redskins’ final cuts last summer but had to be brought back at midseason when injuries wreaked havoc on the offensive line. He started six games at left guard, playing 424 uneven snaps. Washington is bringing back essentially the same offensive line group it had in 2017.
