Eagles at Buccaneers (-8.5): O/U 46.5
Upset alert? I don’t know, but Philadelphia fans are certainly chirping about. I’m from the Pittsburgh area, so don’t worry; I think level-headed.
Entering the Wild Card Weekend, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles have beat three teams this season with a winning record: the Panthers, Saints and Broncos.
When looking over the Eagles road schedule, they went 5-3 on the ML (62.5%) and 4-4 ATS (50%) this season, per NBC’s Edge Finder.
However, the road victories came against the Falcons, Panthers, Lions, Broncos and Football Team -- none of which are in the postseason.
The Bucs are 2-2 on the ML versus teams with winning records, winning two straight (Bills, Colts). Tampa lost to the Saints and Rams.
Trusting Tom Brady and the Bucs in Tampa over Hurts and the Eagles is not hard to convince anyone. Especially considering Brady is 34-11 on the ML (75.5%) in his postseason career.
Over Brady’s last 18 playoff games, he is 13-5 ATS (72.2%), including a 6-4 ATS (60%) mark over the previous 10 as a favorite.
More impressively, Brady is 7-3 ATS (70%) and 9-1 SU (90%) as a home favorite in the postseason -- all with New England because Tampa Bay was an underdog in three of four games during that Super Bowl run last year.
The Bucs out-gained the Eagles in yards, 399-213 during the earlier season meeting, but only won by six points.
The final score of 28-22 was not as telling as the 21-7 halftime lead Tampa held or the 28-14 lead entering the fourth quarter.
Brady and the Bucs relaxed down the stretch, plus Rob Gronkowski did not play in that meeting.
With inclement weather possibly impacting this game, that only bodes well for the dink-and-dunk master in Brady, not Hurts and the Eagles offense.
Back Tampa Bay out to -9 as they should win by double-digits.
Pick: Buccaneers -8.5 (1u)
