Earlier this week the traders at PointsBet were so kind to share with me which Super Bowl props were seeing the most action. The anytime touchdown scorer market has been popular this week. Here are some of the props that people are betting on.
Anytime Touchdown Scorer - Cooper Kupp (-210)
I can’t recall ever seeing a player -210 in the anytime touchdown scorer market. It’s insane to think bettors will have to pay over two dollars on a Kupp touchdown but the Rams wide receiver has been the best offensive player in the league this season. During the regular season, Kupp scored 16 touchdowns and he added 4 more touchdown receptions in the playoffs. For my money, Kupp is the best player in this game and this price reflects that. I don’t think it’s a bad idea to bet this straight up at this price but adding it to a parlay is also a good option. PointsBet has Kupp at +450 to win the Super Bowl MVP award. That’s a wager that will be on my card Super Bowl Sunday.
Anytime Touchdown Scorer - Ja’Marr Chase (+105)
The second most bet prop at PointsBet right now is Bengals rookie wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase to be an anytime touchdown scorer. In his rookie season, Chase provided instant offense for the Bengals. The former LSU Tiger caught 13 touchdown passes during the regular season and 1 touchdown reception in the playoffs. Chase had two or more touchdowns on three different occasions this season. Be careful with this wager. The Rams will not let Chase beat them. Teams have also been able to keep Chase out of the end zone at times this season. Chase receiving yards Over 80.5 at -105 is a better bet in my opinion.
Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns - Joe Burrow (-160)
No player will enter Super Bowl week with more fanfare than Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. What a ride Burrow has been on the past two and a half years. From the Heisman Trophy to National Champion and now a Super Bowl shot in only his second NFL season. Burrow was 8th in the league with 34 touchdown passes this season. He threw 4 touchdown passes in 3 playoff games. In 20 games played this season, Burrow has thrown at least 2 TD passes in 13 of them. This is one of my favorite Super Bowl prop bets.
Anytime Touchdown Scorer - Odell Beckahm Jr (+135)
I will be the first to admit. When Beckham was traded to the Rams I thought it was much ado about nothing. I felt as if Beckham was washed up. Boy was I wrong and so were the Cleveland Browns. Since joining the Rams, Beckham has caught 6 touchdowns in 11 games. He is putting up these numbers while playing with Cooper Kupp. During the regular season, the Bengals defense gave up 36 touchdown passes. That was seventh-most in the NFL. They gave up another 4 touchdown passes in three playoff games. This is one of the smartest bets you can place for the Super Bowl. Another popular wager I have seen at some shops is Odell Beckham and Tee Higgins combining for Over 1.5 touchdowns.
Anytime Touchdown Scorer - Joe Mixon (-110)
Joe Mixon as an anytime touchdown scorer opened up at +105 on PointsBet. Action on that number has moved the juice to -110. If you like this wager as I do. It’s probably a good idea to bet on it soon. This number will continue to move, as Mixon has scored 10 touchdowns in his last 11 games. He scored 13 on the season. I would also put a wager on Mixon to be the game’s first touchdown scorer and the Bengals’ first touchdown scorer. PointsBet has those priced at +600 and +240 respectively. Mixon Under 25.5 receiving yards is another popular Mixon prop bet.
