BC tabs NFL assistant for coordinator job

Nearly five weeks after Gary Tranquill had retired from coaching, Boston College has reportedly found his replacement.

According to the Boston Herald, Kevin Rogers has been hired as Boston College’s new coordinator. Rogers had spent the past five seasons with the NFL club as quarterbacks coach.

There’s no word on when an official announcement will be made by the school.

In addition to Rogers, the list of external candidates had included Kevin Rogers, former Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks coach; Jim Hofher, University of Delaware offensive coordinator; Chris Palmer, former NFL head coach and offensive coordinator; and Peter Vaas, USF QB coach.

As far as candidates already on Spaziani’s staff, wide receivers coach Ryan Day and tight ends coach Dave Brock had also been interviewed for the job.
