Jim Harbaugh swears he’s ‘never eaten a booger in my entire life’

I guess there’s now something we can officially label as Boogergate? And, to put the green cherry on top of the nasal soufflé, it involves the most headline-making head coach in college football.

Michigan had little problem dispatching UCF this past Saturday, with the Wolverines pushing their record to 2-0 on the strength of a second straight win by 37 or more points. The most noteworthy thing to come out of the 51-14 win over the AAC school, in fact, was a video that went viral in which it appeared to some that the UM head coach did some nostril digging and pulled out a little in-game snack.

I have five kids and, well, let’s just say that move looks awfully familiar.

Harbaugh, however, wants to make it perfectly clear that that wasn’t his move. In fact, he loudly proclaimed that he’s never eaten nostril debris. Ever.

“I have never eaten a booger in my entire life,” Harbaugh, by way of mlive.com, said on his weekly radio show Monday night. “That might have looked like what was happening. But I think if you rub your nose and then you bite your fingernail, that’s not eating a booger now.

“There was no booger eating. Let me clear the air ... for clarity here, for the record, I have never eaten a booger in my entire life.”

I’ll allow those in the audience who’d like to go “Magic Loogie” on the video evidence to determine what exactly was going on with Harbaugh’s thumb, whether it was inside or outside the nostril and whether he subsequently munched on what he may or may not have trapped.
