Following up on reports that surfaced Wednesday morning, LSU confirmed in a press release this afternoon that defensive back Jalen Mills has been indefinitely suspended from the football program for his involvement in what the school described as an off-campus incident.
While the release didn’t delve into the details of said incident, reports stated that Mills was charged earlier today with second-degree battery. More to the point, he was charged after allegedly punching a woman in the mouth.
The release went on to state that head coach Les Miles “said that he will not make any further comments until the incident has gone through the legal system.”
Mills, a three-star member of the Tigers’ 2012 recruiting class, started every game the past two years at cornerback, 26 in all. This past spring, he was moved to safety.
