Texas A&M O-lineman Cedric Ogbuehi passes on NFL Draft

Texas A&M tackle Cedric Ogbuehi won’t join quarterback Johnny Manziel and wide receiver Mike Evans in the pros this year.

The 30-game starter announced Thursday he’ll stick around College Station for his senior season, despite receiving a first-round grade from the NFL Draft advisory board.

“The NFL has always been a dream of mine but I want to achieve that dream with my education and as much preparation as possible at my position,” Ogbuehi tweeted.

Not all first-round picks are created equal, though, and chances are Ogbuehi could move into the top half of the 2015 NFL Draft if he continues to improve and avoid injury. Ogbuehi played right tackle for the Aggies this year, but has previously expressed a desire to play left tackle. Incumbent Aggies left tackle Jake Matthews exhausted his eligibility in 2013 and will likely be a top pick in this spring’s NFL Draft.
