Once again, yet another headline I never figured I’d have to type.
Be that as it may, WV MetroNews is reporting that West Virginia defensive back Daejuan Funderburk was arrested and charged following a New Year’s Day incident. The incident, which occurred at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa one day prior to WVU’s Cactus Bowl win over Arizona State, led to Funderburk initially being charged with suspicion of assault, disorderly conduct, indecent exposure and public sexual indecency.
And just what led to the charges? From the website’s report:
Funderburk has already pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and indecent exposure, and was sentenced to five days in jail. The incident also cost him a spot on the team as he was dismissed shortly after word of the arrest reached Dana Holgorsen and his coaching staff.
After redshirting as a true freshman in 2014, Funderburk recorded no statistics during the 2015 season.
