George Springer went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and another RBI single in Toronto’s loss to the Cubs on Friday.
Springer supplied two of the four hits against Cubs starter Ben Brown, one of them a 374-foot pulled shot to left-center to briefly cut the deficit to 7-2. Springer is showing signs of life, hitting .255/.373/.473 with three homers and three stolen bases over his past 15 games. He remains a fringe starter in 12-team leagues while we see if he can keep this up after losing most of his first two months to toe injuries.
