Michael McGreevy allowed eight hits and five runs with one walk and two strikeouts over five innings in a loss to the Royals on Friday.

McGreevy was mostly unscathed in this start despite completely unraveling in the fourth inning. He gave up four of his five runs in that frame and just could not seem to find a put-away pitch. All four of the Royals hits that inning came with two strikes and McGreevy had two strikes on the one hitter he walked as well. Such is the problem with McGreevy having a deep arsenal with solid command, but unable to miss bats consistently. He’ll take a 3.35 ERA, 53 strikeouts, and 20 walks across 83 1/3 innings so far this season into his next scheduled start against the Diamondbacks at home.

Michael McGreevy allowed five hits and one run with one walk and six strikeouts across 6 1/3 innings to earn the win in a 5-1 triumph over the Brewers on Wednesday.

Pitching on his birthday, McGreevy turned in a gem. After a bit of chaos to start the game, he retired 17 of the next 18 hitters he faced. The only one who reached was thrown out stealing the McGreevy barely broke a sweat during the middle innings of this one. He was eventually pulled after allowing two hits in the seventh and one of those inherited runners scored as the only blemish on his ledger. As usual, he mixed his deep, seven-pitch repertoire beautifully and mostly hung around near the edges of the plate. This was a fantastic close to an amazing first with a 3.01 ERA, 66 strikeouts, and 23 walks through 101 2/3 innings.

Michael McGreevy allowed three hits and two runs with one walk and three strikeouts over six innings in a loss to the Braves on Wednesday.

If not for Ozzie Albies, McGreevy would’ve turned in an even better start here. In the first inning, Albies doubled on the fifth pitch of the game to drive home Drake Baldwin who’d just singled. Then, he homered in the third. Besides those three batted balls, just one other Braves batter reached base against McGreevy. He worked his cutter beautifully at the letters for whiffs and showed good command of the rest of his secondary pitches as well. On the season, he has a 3.12 ERA, 60 strikeouts, and 22 walks through 95 1/3 innings. He’s scheduled for a two-start week against the Brewers and Braves to close out the first half.

Michael McGreevy shut out the Marlins for six innings in a no-decision Friday.

McGreevy did his part, but neither team scored until the eighth in the Marlins’ 4-0 victory. It was McGreevy’s 10th quality start of the year, but he remained 3-6 with a 3.12 ERA. Meanwhile, Andre Pallante has gone 9-4 while giving up four more runs in 6 2/3 fewer innings for the same team. McGreevy will likely make his next start Wednesday or Thursday against the Braves.

Thursday night’s scheduled contest between the Diamondbacks and Cardinals in St. Louis was postponed due to inclement weather.

The game will be made up on July 23. Expect Thursday’s scheduled starters — Michael McGreevy and Zac Gallen — to pitch on Friday for their respective ballclubs.

Michael McGreevy allowed two runs in six innings but didn’t factor into the decision versus the Twins on Sunday.

McGreevy allowed just a two-run homer in the fourth to Victor Caratini, and exited after six innings with a 4-2 lead. The Twins would score the next three, so it’s a hard-luck no-decision for the former first-round pick. McGreevy walked two and struck out two, and saw his ERA remain 2.99 in the process. He’ll be back on the bump next Friday in a scheduled start against the Royals in Kansas City.

Michael McGreevy allowed two runs in six innings and got a no-decision in the Cardinals’ 5-3 victory over the Reds on Sunday.

McGreevy gave up five hits, walked none and struck out five. The 25-year-old allowed solo home runs to Matt McClain and Tyler Stephenson in the third inning, but otherwise wasn’t scored on. He has a 2.99 ERA as his excellent season continues. McGreevy will face the Twins on the road next weekend.

Michael McGreevy allowed two runs over six innings Monday in a loss to the Rangers.

While it’s a third straight loss for McGreevy, this was a better performance than the other two, even if he did notch just one strikeout. Aided by two double plays, he got his 18 outs on 84 pitches. McGreevy is now 3-5 with a 2.98 ERA. He’ll take on the Reds on Sunday.

McGreevy gave up seven hits, walked three and struck out six. He fell to 3-4 with the loss. McGreevy’s ERA is up to 2.98 while his xFIP is 3.77, showing he’s still not as good as his ERA. Fantasy managers should tread lightly with McGreevy. He’s lined up to face the Rangers next week.

Michael McGreevy allowed 10 hits, but just three runs with one walk and one strikeout apiece across five-plus innings in a loss to the Pirates on Wednesday.

This was one of the strangest starts you’ll ever see. The Pirates were all over McGreevy with 10 hits and 12 hard-hit balls, they just could not get one when they needed it. In total, McGreevy stranded eight runners on base in his five-plus innings of work as he at least mixed his deep repertoire up well. He still has a pretty 2.40 ERA on the season as he heads into a two-start week against the Brewers and Cubs.

Michael McGreevy pitched six innings of one-run ball Thursday in a no-decision against the A’s.

McGreevy gave up 11 hard-hit balls today, but only three turned into hits. Nick Kurtz’s homer was one of them, but flies of 396, 391 and 383 feet all stayed in the park and turned into outs. That’s the kind of good fortune that has allowed McGreevy to post a 2.10 ERA through nine starts with only an average groundball rate and a 19 percent strikeout rate. His BABIP is an incredible .203. He still doesn’t figure to provide mixed-league value in the long run, but he’s a fair play against the Pirates next week.

Jung Hoo Lee is absent from the Giants’ starting lineup for Thursday’s series opener against the Rockies.

Lee has been in a bit of a funk at the plate, going just 7-for-44 with one extra-base hit over his last 12 games, so the Giants will give him a night off to clear his head. Drew Gilbert will start in his place in center field and will bat eighth for the Giants against Ryan Feltner and the Rockies.

Brebbia elected free agency last weekend rather than accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A Albuquerque, but after exploring his options on the open market, the veteran right-hander decided that his best opportunity was to remain with the Rockies. The 36-year-old has compiled a 10.38 ERA and 1.62 WHIP over 4 1/3 frames in his three outings with the big league club this season.
