Tanner Gordon allowed five runs and struck out four batters over five innings in a loss against the Marlins on Tuesday.
The Marlins brought a run across to score in the first inning on two hits. Two more hits plated a second run in the second inning. Gordon gave up three more in the third on a three-run blast by Javier Sanoja. Gordon gave the Rockies two more scoreless frames before departing at 74 pitches through five innings. The 28-year-old right-hander will take a 6.69 ERA, 1.59 WHIP, and a 39/8 K/BB ratio across 40 1/3 innings into a start against the Giants in Colorado on Sunday.
