Chase DeLauter powers Guardians past Marlins

It’s strange to see DeLauter taking a seat against a right-handed starter, especially since he’s hitting .344 (11-for-32) with four RBI and two steals in eight games since the All-Star break. With Angel Martínez back in right field, it’ll be rookie Travis Bazzana at DH with Gabriel Arias handling second base on Saturday evening.

DeLauter hit five home runs in his first seven games of the season and then seemed to go on a power outage, not hitting his next one until May 3rd. He now has two home runs in his last four games and is up to nine on the season. The 24-year-old makes plenty of hard contact, so maybe the summer months will lead to a bit of a power surge.

DeLauter has started all four games since returning from the IL, including against two lefties. That likely has something to do with how injured Cleveland is, but it’s nice for fantasy managers to see. The rookie outfielder got off to a scorching start to 2026, but he’s mostly cooled since. DeLauter’s contact and plate discipline skills are strong. He’ll need to improve his batted-ball impact to take the next step in the majors.

DeLauter returned from a rib fracture last week, but continues to DH as he works his way back. The 24-year-old outfielder had two hits Monday, including an RBI double in the fifth inning that put the Guardians ahead 2-1. He’s hitting .269 with a .755 OPS and 37 RBI.

The 24-year-old rookie standout went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI against the Mariners on Sunday in his return from the injured list. He’s been a hitting machine from the moment he was drafted back in 2022 and should continue batting in the heart of Cleveland’s lineup until further notice. Needless to say, he should be rostered in all fantasy formats.

DeLauter delivered in his return from the injured list on Sunday, starting with a base hit in the seventh. He then drove in two runs on a hit to tie the game in the eighth with two outs. The 24-year-old outfielder is a welcome addition back into the lineup, he’s hitting .265/.338/.408 with seven homers, 25 runs scored, and 36 RBI across 275 plate appearances so far.
