X-rays negative on Wyatt Langford’s foot

Arrighetti is trying to pitch through his foot nerve issue, and he was somewhat successful Sunday even though his velocity was down 1.5-2 mph. He’ll probably make one more rehab start before the Jays consider handing him a rotation spot.

Santillan’s velocity in his second rehab outing was down about 1.5 mph on his fastball and three mph on his slider from where he was before landing on the IL with an oblique strain in late June. Still, the Reds probably won’t wait much longer to activate him.

The 23-year-old Pitre, who was picked up from the Rays in the Freddy Peralta trade, had hit .375/.386/.375 in 10 games for Double-A Binghamton, putting him at .316/.433/.439 overall in 98 games between High-A and Double-A this year. If Marcus Semien fails to bounce back, he could be a candidate to see time at second base for the Mets next year.

This is rather interesting, especially since Honeycutt just returned a few days ago from a four-week absence due to a strained oblique. The 23-year-old strikeout artist was hitting just .182/.285/.359 while repeating in High-A ball. He’s fanned 312 times while collecting a total of 113 hits in 748 plate appearances since debuting in the minors.

Gonzales is widely regarded as Boston’s No. 2 prospect now that the other contenders for that spot were all sent to Baltimore for Adley Rutschman. The 19-year-old hit .271/.391/.463 with 17 homers in 422 plate appearances for High-A Greenville.

Woo completed six innings in the win tonight, but he was only at 75 pitches, and it sounds like he would have continued if not for the shoulder issue getting him lifted as a precaution. Woo said after the game that he wasn’t concerned about it. Still, if he winds up on the IL, that would open up a spot for top prospect Kade Anderson. Anderson, though, should really be in the majors regardless.

The homer, which unfortunately followed a caught stealing from Josh Naylor, was far from a bomb, but it made it into the Crawford Boxes at Daikin Park. Statcast had it at .327 feet and said it would have been a homer in one ballpark. Maybe it’ll give Raleigh some momentum anyway. It was his second hit in seven games and his 13th homer of the year. He still hasn’t had two hits in a game since July 7.

The runs came on solo homers from Jeremy Peña and Nick Allen. With Seattle’s pen holding on to a one-run lead, Woo earned his ninth win, though just his second on the road. He had been 1-8 with a 6.22 ERA in 13 starts outside of Seattle. Woo will get a home start next time out against the Cubs.

Seemingly highly motivated, Muñoz recovered nicely from one of the worst outings of his career in a blown save and loss Friday. He averaged 101.1 mph with his 11 heaters tonight, topping his season average by 1.5 mph.

Brown gave up a homer in the first and two walks and a single in the third. He actually walked three batters in a row with two outs in the fourth, but the Mariners couldn’t capitalize then after Brendan Donovan declined to challenge a 3-2 strike with the bases loaded; the pitch was very close to the top of the zone, and it’s unclear if it would have been overturned. Brown is up to 40 walks in 68 2/3 innings this season. Last year, he walked 57 in 185 1/3 innings. In spite of his issues, he still seems like a fine play in a home start against the A’s next weekend.
