Unfortunately for the 31-year-old right-hander, Conley was promoted from Double-A on Sunday but he winds up getting sent back down without getting the chance to make his big league debut. Expect the Mets to try to find him another opportunity to do so before the season comes to an end.

Mets selected the contract of RHP Bryce Conley from Double-A Binghampton.

Conley, 31, has made 20 appearances (18 starts) between Double-A Binghampton and Triple-A Syracuse this season, compiling a miserable 5.89 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and a 90/47 K/BB ratio across 91 2/3 innings. He adds a fresh arm capable of working multiple innings to the Mets’ bullpen.

Mets signed RHP Bryce Conley to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Conley spent last season with the Nationals, pitching to a 5.01 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and 107/43 K/BB ratio in 118 2/3 innings. The 31-year-old has not yet made his MLB debut and should operate just as organizational depth.

Glasnow will have a rehab start on Friday and another after that, likely on next Wednesday, before being a candidate to come off the injured list. That would put him on track to start in the big leagues during the last week of August against the Braves or Tigers. Justin Wrobleski and Eric Lauer are candidates to move to the bullpen when Glasnow returns.
