Pete Alonso had a monster day at the plate in Sunday’s 10-5 win over the Rangers, reaching base five times while launching two hours and driving in four runs.
It was his best day as an Oriole to date. Alonso went 3-for-3 with two walks and scored three runs. He slammed a two-run homer off Kumar Rocker in the second inning and added a two-run shot off Jordan Montgomery in the fourth. It was his first multi-homer game as a member of Baltimore, which says a lot about the sort of year it’s been for him. Still, he’s now up to 25 homers on the year, putting him on pace for his sixth-straight 30-homer campaign.
