Gage Jump was knocked around during Thursday afternoon’s loss to the Royals, surrendering five runs on eight hits in just four innings of work.
The 23-year-old southpaw walked three batters in the ballgame while striking out three. He served up a solo homer to Bobby Witt Jr. in the opening inning, then the Royals added on with two runs each on the third and fourth innings. Jump generated just five whiffs on 86 pitches on the day, posting an uninspiring CSW of 24 percent. He’ll look to bounce back as he brings an uneven 4.83 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and an 88/40 K/BB ratio (82 innings) into Tuesday’s start against the Twins.
