Hao-Yu Lee is batting third in game one of Detroit’s doubleheader against the Guardians on Friday.

Lee has been red-hot and has received a lineup elevation against LHP Logan Allen. The 23-year-old second baseman has hit second, seventh, ninth, fifth, second, and now third over the past six days while starting every game — of his 12 starts in the top four slots of the order, 10 of them have come since July 28 and he’s hitting .303/.351/.480 since the start of June with seven homers and two stolen bases. Lee’s not a must-roster shallow player, but since he figures to start plenty down the stretch he’s a reasonable add in 12-team leagues.

It appears to be a routine day off with sizzling-hot rookie Hao-Yu Lee taking over at the keystone. Torres is hitting .256 (21-for-82) with three homers and 12 RBI in 20 games since the start of August.

Hao-Yu Lee went 1-for-3 with a solo home run against the Royals on Saturday.

Lee’s home run was his seventh of the year. He hit a solo shot off Michael Wacha in the fifth inning. Lee is 9-for-22 (.409) with a home run, seven runs scored and four RBI over his last 10 games. The Tigers crowded infield limits Lee’s at-bats, leaving him as merely an option in AL-Only leagues.

Hao-Yu Lee is making his third straight start Saturday against the Royals.

It looks like Lee might have overtaken Javier Báez on the depth chart for now, as Báez has now sat against the last two righties the Tigers have faced. Lee went seven straight games without starting earlier this month, but he’s gone 8-for-19 with a 2/4 K/BB over the last two weeks.

Hao-Yu Lee is out of Detroit’s starting lineup for a fifth straight game Saturday.

Lee had a 12-game hitting streak while playing pretty regularly in the second half of last month, but he’s taken a backseat since Javier Báez came off the IL. The Tigers seem pretty happy with Báez at short and Kevin McGonigle at third right now.

Hao-Yu Lee went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBI on Saturday in a loss to the Royals.

Lee extended his hitting streak to 10 consecutive games with an RBI double against Royals veteran Michael Wacha in the second inning. He capped off the multi-hit performance with a fourth-inning blast into the left-field corner. The 23-year-old rookie is tearing the cover off the ball of late, hitting .370 (10-for-27) with two homers in eight games since the All-Star break.

Hao-Yu Lee went 2-for-3 with an RBI single in Detroit’s 2-1 win over the Royals on Friday.

Lee hit an RBI single off opener Beck Way (who was a loser, baby, today) to stake the Tigers to a 2-0 lead early. That was all they’d need with Tarik Skubal on the mound. Lee added a two-out double in the sixth but was stranded. Lee has mostly worked as a platoon bat against lefties this year, starting 27 games against lefties and hitting .270/.308/.432 against them so far this year.

Hao-Yu Lee delivered a two-out, two-run double off of Kirby Yates in the ninth inning on Friday, propelling the Tigers to a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over the Angels.

As a team, the Tigers couldn’t do anything against Reid Detmers and company throughout the ballgame, They finally got something going against Kirby Yates in the ninth though as Dillon Dingler was hit by a pitch and Riley Greene worked a one-out walk. Down to their final out, Lee smoked a ball into the gap in right-center, plating both runs and putting the Tigers ahead to stay. The rookie infielder finished the night 1-for-4 and is now hitting .255/.288/.392 with four homers and 17 RBI in 161 plate appearances on the season.

Hao-Yu Lee went 1-for-4 and belted a two-run homer as the Tigers were walloped by the Rangers on Thursday evening in Arlington.

Lee did his damage off of Rangers’ right-hander Nathan Eovaldi in the fifth inning, belting a first-pitch splitter for a 383-foot (98.9-mph EV) two-run shot to left center that pulled the Tigers to within two runs at 5-3. That would be as close as they would get. Lee struck out in each of his other three plate appearances in the ballgame — including with the bases loaded and two outs in the sixth inning. For the season, the rookie infielder is hitting .255/.292/.401 with four homers, 15 RBI and a 40/7 K/BB ratio in 145 plate appearances.

Tigers placed 2B Gleyber Torres on the 10-day injured list with a left oblique strain.

Torres injured himself on a swing on Monday and will head back to the injured list after spending a month there earlier in the season with the same injury. Given that he reinjured himself, we’d expect Torres to be sidelined at least a month this time as well, if not more, to ensure he heals fully. Hao-Yu Lee will be the primary starting second baseman in the meantime.

Gleyber Torres (side) remains out of the lineup on Wednesday against the Astros.

This is Torres’ second straight game on the bench after he left Monday’s game with pain in his left side following a swing. The Tigers have an off day on Thursday, so they likely want to give their second baseman at least one more day to rest before deciding if they need to play him on the injured list. Torres has already missed a month with an oblique strain in his left side and was hitting .341/.413/.585 in 11 games in June with two home runs, eight runs scored, and seven RBI. Another stint on the injured list would be a bummer. Hao-Yu Lee will continue to start at second base and bat eighth on Wednesday.

This is a tough one for the Astros; Okert has a 2.13 ERA and has allowed just 45 hits in 67 2/3 innings as one of Josh Hader’s main setup men. There’s no timeline for a return just yet and hamstrings are tricky things; they’ll try to manage the AL West race without him for at least the next two weeks.

He’ll miss the rest of the regular season. As things currently stand, the 24-year-old should have a chance to battle Drew Cavanaugh for the starting catcher job next spring training. A lot can change by then, of course. Rodriguez hit .235/.316/.412 in 58 plate appearances with the Giants with two homers and one stolen base and had a .268/.347/.397 line in 225 plate appearances with Triple-A Sacramento.

It’s a bit of a surprising move given the Phillies are trying to chase down the Braves in the NL East and Harris is hitting .351/.373/.684 with four homers and three stolen bases in his last 15 games. They are facing LHP Cristopher Sánchez and Harris is hitting .269/.306/.462 against left-handers this year, we guess. Reds selected the contract of CF Carlos Jorge from Triple-A Louisville.

Perhaps the Reds will turn to Jorge down the stretch in center field, where the uninspiring Dane Myers/TJ Friedl platoon has mostly gone nowhere. The 22-year-old certainly has enough speed to be fantasy interesting if he gets a shot at extended playing time.
