Mets recall Tobias Myers from Triple-A Syracuse

Grisham has been sidelined since September 5th with a right hamstring strain. With just 11 days left in the season, Grisham’s progress is likely more about him making it back to the Yankees for the postseason than the regular season. He may be able to return for a few games to end the regular season, but he is not a major stash candidate in fantasy leagues, outside of the deepest formats.

The 23-year-old has been pitching in Triple-A as he works his way back from knee surgery. He threw 34 pitches in a start on Tuesday. He will now throw another bullpen with the team in Texas and is “on track to join the MLB team on maybe Sunday or Monday.” He will obviously not be fully ramped up by then, but the Blue Jays are fighting for the final playoff spot and believe that even 40-50 pitches from Yesavage is an upgrade for them. His command was a major issue before his injury, so it’s hard to trust him in fantasy leagues for the remainder of 2026.

Nelson has been shut down since June 19th with a partially torn forearm flexor. He has been pitching out of the bullpen in Triple-A and will have that same role with the Diamondbacks for their playoff push.

Keith had missed two straight games with left thumb soreness. It’s unclear if he’s ready to play the field yet or if the Tigers just prefer to have Kevin McGonigle and Hao-Yu Lee out there. Instead, Keith will be the DH, which pushes Gleyber Torres out of the lineup.

With Kevin McGonigle back at third base, Hao-Yu Lee was shifted back to second base, and Torres is on the bench. It seems like the 29-year-old will not be guaranteed playing time down the stretch.

Ross was just demoted four days ago, but since Kaelen Culpepper (hamstring) landed on the injured list, he can be recalled this quickly. Ross is starting at shortstop and batting ninth on Wednesday against the Yankees and will likely be the team’s starting shortstop in the short term unless the wanted to move Brooks Lee, who is out of the lineup on Wednesday, back there.

This will almost assuredly end Culpepper’s season since the MLB season ends just over 10 days from now. This is also his third trip to the injured list this season, if we include minor league stints; however, he doesn’t have a long track record of injuries. The 23-year-old hit .275/.333/.404 with three home runs, 15 runs scored, and 11 RBI in 31 MLB games. He should be the team’s starting shortstop next season.

This move was announced last night by Yankees manager Aaron Boone and is now official. Schmidt has been out since undergoing Tommy John surgery last year and will now return to the Yankees in a relief role.

The Yankees needed to clear a spot on the 40-man roster to activate Clarke Schmidt, so Cabrera was let go. The 27-year-old is hitting .288 with 19 home runs and a .790 OPS in Triple-A this season and could certainly be claimed off waivers by a team needing some infield depth.

We know that DeLauter (wrist) came to the ballpark sore on Tuesday after feeling something in his last at-bat on Monday. He’s listed as day-to-day but has not started in either of the last two games. Petey Halpin will start in center field and bat eighth while Steven Kwan will move to left field.
