Single-A Jupiter’s Jose Garcia pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out seven on Wednesday.
Garcia, 21, might end up in the pen because of his slight build, but he has quite a bit of potential and might even become a closer someday. He’s 6-2 with a 1.93 ERA, 53 H and 64/15 K/BB in 70 IP for Jupiter.

Dansby Swanson delivered a two-run homer and an RBI single Friday in the Cubs’ 8-6 defeat of the Guardians.
The homer came off Logan Allen in the first. It was his first spring home run since 2023, as he went without one in 75 at-bats the last two years.
Target Abreu late for fantasy RP amid Hader injury
Eric Samulski and James Schiano look at the 'landmine-y' world of fantasy relief pitchers and explain why Josh Hader's injury gives Bryan Abreu a massive boost in value.
  • CHC Pitcher #30
Edward Cabrera retired all six batters he faced, striking out three of them, Friday against the Guardians.
Cabrera had a 25.07 ERA in four starts last spring before opening the season on the IL with a blister, so things are already off to a better start here. His velocities today were on par with his 2025 numbers, and he allowed just one hard-hit ball to the three batters who made contact.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher #77
Parker Messick allowed two runs in 2 2/3 innings out of the pen Friday against the Cubs.
Messick worked the middle innings after Logan Allen allowed two runs in three innings to start the game. It’s not entirely set that Joey Cantillo will be in the Guardians’ rotation, but he seems like a good bet, which would leave one spot for Messick and Allen. Messick is far more interesting for fantasy purposes, but upside might not win the day.
  • CHC Infield #3
Alex Bregman doubled and singled Friday against the Guardians.
Bregman’s double went 409 feet and would have been a homer in 24 ballparks, but perhaps even worse is he had another 389-foot fly to right-center that went for an out, even though it would have been gone in 16 ballparks.
  • COL Left Fielder #13
Zac Veen played the role of hero for the Rockies on Friday afternoon, blasting a walk-off solo home run in a 3-2 victory over the Padres.
The dynamic 24-year-old outfielder victimized Sean Boyle for the game-winning blast, demolishing a 1-0 changeup for a 447-foot (108.7 mph EV) bomb to center field. Veen finished the afternoon 1-for-2. He’s off to a strong start this spring, hitting .273 (3-for-11) with a pair of homers, three RBI and a 4/1 K/BB ratio in his first six games. If he can work his way into a regular role with the Rockies, he could wind up being an impact addition for fantasy purposes.
  • COL Catcher #15
Hunter Goodman went 1-for-3 and blasted his first home run of the spring on Friday as the Rockies eked out a one-run victory over the Padres.
Goodman ambushed a first-pitch fastball from Ron Marinaccio in the fourth inning, crushing a 394-foot (105.8 mph EV) solo shot that tied the game at 1-1. The 26-year-old slugger is off to a bit of a slow start this spring, hitting just .182 (2-for-11) with a homer, two RBI and four strikeouts. He’s firmly entrenched as a top five option at the catcher position for fantasy purposes.
  • COL Pitcher #29
Tanner Gordon pitched well in Friday’s Cactus League start against the Padres, allowing just one walk over two scoreless frames.
The 28-year-old hurler issued a leadoff walk to Xander Bogaerts then retired the heart of the Padres’ regular lineup in order to escape trouble in the opening inning. He then set them down in order in the second inning including a strikeout of Jake Cronenworth. Gordon threw 16 of his 25 pitches for strikes in the contest, generating just one whiff and posting a CSW of 16 percent. Even if he earns a spot in the Rockies’ Opening Day rotation, he’s unlikely to have much utility from a fantasy perspective.
  • SD Starting Pitcher #24
Triston McKenzie looked much better in his second spring outing for the Padres, giving up one run on one hit and a pair of walks over his two innings of work.
The 28-year-old hurler punched out three in the contest. McKenzie took over in the fifth inning and navigated a scoreless frame. He then returned for the sixth where he allowed a two-out RBI single to Adael Amador. It was a much-needed bounce back effort for McKenzie who was lit up for four runs over 2/3 of an inning against the Dodgers in his Padres’ debut. He still faces an uphill battle at earning a spot on the Opening Day roster, but this was at least a step in the right direction.
  • SD Pitcher #98
Randy Vásquez delivered another strong Cactus League start on Friday, limiting the Rockies to just two walks over 2 2/3 innings of shutout baseball.
Four of the eight outs that Vásquez recorded came via the strikeout and he did not allow a hit in the ballgame. The 27-year-old right-hander generated six swings and misses on 37 offerings in the game, posting a strong CSW of 35 percent. What’s noteworthy is that once again his fastball exhibited increased velocity, averaging 95.6 mph after sitting just 93.5 mph during the 2025 campaign. If that added velocity sticks, Vásquez could wind up being an interesting late round option for fantasy purposes.
  • SF Infield #2
Willy Adames swatted leadoff home run off of Yoshinobu Yamamoto on Friday, helping to lead the Giants to a 12-4 victory over the Dodgers in Cactus League competition.
Adames got a full-count curveball from Yamamoto to start the home half of the first inning and launched it for a 418-foot (103.3 mph EV) solo shot. That would be his only hit in three at-bats on the day and through 12 at-bats to open the spring. Adames has been used out of the leadoff spot and has hit cleanup so far this spring as new skipper Tony Vitello continues to tinker with potential lineups.
