Christian Walker is not in the lineup against the Mariners on Saturday.

Walker was seen doing work before the game on his leg, with Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reporting that it would help determine his availability for the contest. It’s not known when he picked up the ailment, but he’ll sit Saturday with Isaac Paredes getting the start at first and hitting third.

Maikel Garcia

KC 3rd Baseman #11

Maikel Garcia went 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs scored in the Royals’ 2-0 win over the White Sox on Saturday.

Garcia was responsible for both of Kansas City’s runs in their win against the White Sox, starting with a solo homer off Erick Fedde on the first pitch of the game. He later doubled in the eighth and scored an insurance run on a sacrifice fly. The 26-year-old third baseman is off to a hot start at the plate, slashing .328/.394/.517 with two homers, nine runs scored, eight RBI, and one steal across 66 plate appearances.

Lucas Erceg

KC Relief Pitcher #60

Lucas Erceg tossed a clean ninth inning with one strikeout to earn the save against the White Sox on Saturday.

Erceg was summoned in the top of the ninth with a two-run lead to close it out against the White Sox. He struck out one in a clean frame to shut the door on Chicago and secure the win for his fifth save of the season. Erceg continues to serve as the closer in Carlos Estévez’s absence and could hold the job as long as he remains effective.

Michael Wacha

KC Starting Pitcher #52

Michael Wacha tossed eight shutout innings with seven strikeouts in a win against the White Sox on Saturday.

Wacha was outstanding on Saturday, spinning eight shutout frames against the White Sox. He scattered four hits and one walk while tossing 63 of 88 pitches for strikes and generated 15 whiffs to collect seven strikeouts. The 34-year-old right-hander ends the day with an excellent 0.43 ERA, 0.71 WHIP, and a 17/5 K/BB ratio across 21 innings. Wacha will look to keep it going when he takes on the Yankees in New York on Friday.

Oneil Cruz

PIT Center Fielder #15

Oneil Cruz went 4-for-5 with a double and three stolen bases as the Pirates edged the Cubs 4-3 in 11 innings on Saturday.

Cruz was doing so well that the Cubs actually had lefty Caleb Thielbar intentionally walk him in the 11th. It definitely factored in there that it was another lefty, Brandon Lowe, hitting behind Cruz, but that was still something for a guy who was benched against lefties down the stretch last year. Three of Cruz’s four hits left his bat at 113+ mph. He now has five steals to go along with his four homers.

Edward Cabrera

CHC Starting Pitcher #30

Edward Cabrera surrendered three runs and eight hits in five innings Saturday in a no-decision against the Pirates.

He left down two runs, but the Cubs let him off the hook in the ninth. Cabrera walked three and struck out four in a rather unimpressive outing. His fastball averaged 95.0 mph today, down from 96.0 mph in his first two starts and 97.0 in 2025. Last year’s big step forward for Cabrera was the product of a 3.1 K:BB. He has 13 strikeouts and nine walks in 16 2/3 innings this year, putting him at 1.4 K;BB. He’ll face the Mets next week.

Erick Fedde

CWS Starting Pitcher #47

Erick Fedde allowed one run with four strikeouts over five innings in a loss against the Royals on Saturday.

Fedde served up a solo homer to Maikel Garcia on the first pitch of the game. He then settled in nicely, going four more scoreless innings with just two more hits and one walk allowed. He struck out four. The 33-year-old right-hander will take a 3.38 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and a 12/3 K/BB ratio across 16 innings into a start against the Athletics in Sacramento on Friday.

Braxton Ashcraft

PIT Starting Pitcher #35

Braxton Ashcraft fanned nine while pitching five innings of one-run ball against the Cubs on Saturday.

Ashcraft generated 16 whiffs on 39 swings, finishing with a 35-percent CSW. Wins are probably going to be an issue for Ashcraft, especially since his workload is going to be monitored, but there’s a lot to like about the way he’s throwing. He’ll be a nice option next week in a home start against the Nationals.

Dennis Santana

PIT Relief Pitcher #60
Dennis Santana took a blown save after giving up a run in the ninth Saturday against the Cubs.

Santana walked Dansby Swanson with one out and Carson Kelly with two outs before Alex Bregman snuck a liner into center field for a game-tying hit. It’s the first run Santana has allowed in eight innings this season, and he’s still probably the favorite for saves in a Pirates closing situation that still might be something of a committee. Yohan Ramírez might be adding his name to the mix after working scoreless 10th and 11th innings for a win today.
