Athletics acquired RHP Rocky Roquet from the Cubs for a player to be named.
Roquet, 26, had a 3.36 ERA and a 63/30 K/BB ratio in 59 innings for Single-A Daytona and Double-A Tennessee last season. While we’re rooting for him to make it in the majors based on name alone, he’s probably going to peak as a Triple-A pitcher.

Corey Seager is scheduled to undergo an MRI exam on his ailing back.
While the Rangers are still calling it a minor issue, the fact that Seager is heading for imaging doesn’t bode particularly well for his status going forward. Fantasy managers should have a contingency plan in place for next week in the event that Seager winds up on the injured list.
Diaz crushes first-pitch home run to dead center
After the Rays' three-run fourth inning, Yandy Diaz followed up with an early statement in the fifth, taking the first pitch offering from Eury Perez deep for a 426-foot solo shot.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher
Dodgers recalled RHP Chayce McDermott from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
McDermott made eight appearances for the Dodgers at the Triple-A level, posting a 4.32 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and a 16/8 K/BB ratio. He’ll function in a middle relief role for the Dodgers. Charlie Barnes was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move on Sunday.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #85
Dodgers optioned LHP Charlie Barnes to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Barnes was just promoted from Triple-A on Friday, but after being used in back-to-back games he wasn’t going to be available on Sunday, so the Dodgers opted to swap him out for a fresh arm. The 30-year-old left-hander should get another chance with the big league club in relatively short order.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #65
Dodgers recalled RHP Paul Gervase from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Gervase was just optioned to Triple-A last Sunday, but he’ll rejoin the Dodgers with Jack Dreyer (shoulder) landing on the injured list. The 25-year-old hurler has posted a 3.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and a 5/1 K/BB ratio over three innings in his lone appearance with the Dodgers this season.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #86
Dodgers placed LHP Jack Dreyer on the 15-day injured list with discomfort in his left shoulder.
The 27-year-old southpaw has been a key cog in the Dodgers’ bullpen this season, posting a stellar 2.08 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and a 24/6 K/BB ratio. As of now, there’s no clear timeline for his return. Paul Gervase was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday to take his place in the bullpen.
  • HOU Starting Pitcher #58
Astros’ general manager Dana Brown told reporters on Sunday that right-hander Hunter Brown (shoulder) is on track for a mid-June return to the Astros’ rotation.
Brown is scheduled to throw a live batting practice session on Tuesday and if all goes well, he’ll be cleared to make a minor league rehab start next weekend. He’s going to require at least a couple of tune-ups there before he’s ready to return. Brown has been shelved since the start of April due to a right shoulder strain.
  • SD Relief Pitcher #37
Padres optioned RHP Alek Jacob to Triple-A El Paso.
The Padres needed to clear a spot on their active roster for the debut of Lucas Giolito on Sunday and unfortunately for Jacob he was the odd man out this time. The 27-year-old gave up two runs without recording an out during Saturday’s appearance against the Mariners. He’ll bide his time at the Triple-A level until his services are needed once more.
  • SD Starting Pitcher
Padres recalled RHP Lucas Giolito from Double-A San Antonio.
The 31-year-old righty will make his Padres’ debut on Sunday against the Mariners. Over four minor league rehab starts, Giolito posted a 4.76 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and a 15/6 K/BB ratio across 17 innings of work. He could wind up carving out some fantasy value in deeper mixed leagues. Alek Jacob was optioned to Triple-A El Paso in a corresponding move.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #63
Rockies recalled RHP Blas Castaño from Triple-A Albuquerque.
The 27-year-old right-hander was claimed off of waivers from the Mariners in mid-April. Castaño has been terrific at the Triple-A level this season, posting a 1.10 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and a 12/7 K/BB ratio over 16 1/3 innings. He’ll work in a middle relief role for the Rockies.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #36
Rockies optioned RHP Zach Agnos to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Agnos has had a rough time in 13 appearances for the Rockies this season, registering a 5.59 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and a 20/10 K/BB ratio over 29 innings of work. Blas Castano was recalled from Triple-A to take his spot in the Rockies’ bullpen.
