According to Patrick Newman’s NPB Tracker, the Seibu Lions will accept and announce the winning posting bid for shortstop Hiroyuki Nakajima on December 7.
It’s still not clear which team made the winning bid, though Mets manager Terry Collins did hint Monday that his team had interest. The Giants and Brewers have been ruled out. Nakajima, 29, batted .297 with 16 home runs, 100 RBI and 21 stolen bases this past year in Japan’s top pro league.

Luis García Jr. went 2-for-3 and slugged a three-run homer on Friday as the Nationals and Astros played to a tie in Grapefruit League play.
García capped off a four-run uprising off of Spencer Arrighetti in the third inning with a 400-foot (107.1 mph EV) three-run blast. He also singled in the ballgame. In his first game action of the spring, the 25-year-old infielder didn’t show any ill effects of the tight left hamstring that had limited him early in camp.
Target Abreu late for fantasy RP amid Hader injury
Eric Samulski and James Schiano look at the 'landmine-y' world of fantasy relief pitchers and explain why Josh Hader's injury gives Bryan Abreu a massive boost in value.
  • WSH Pitcher #70
Mitchell Parker struggled in Friday’s spring outing against the Astros, giving up two runs in 1 2/3 innings of work.
What’s fascinating is that Parker got himself into trouble without allowing a hit, instead issuing four free passes while striking out a pair. The damage done against him came on a two-run double by Taylor Trammell in the fourth inning after Parker had issued a pair of walks and turned the ball over to the bullpen. He threw just 19 of his 43 pitches for strikes in the game. This isn’t going to help Parker’s cause in battling for one of the final spots in the Nationals’ rotation.
  • WSH Starting Pitcher #39
Miles Mikolas danced through raindrops on Friday, issuing three walks and allowing one hit over two innings of scoreless baseball.
The soft-tossing right-hander didn’t have any real problems in the opening inning, but put himself into a hole as he issued three walks in the second, loading the bases for Jose Altuve. That’s where he used his veteran moxie to coax a called third strike out of Altuve to quell the threat and escape the inning unscathed. He’ll eat innings for the Nationals in 2026, but isn’t likely to be helpful at all for fantasy purposes.
  • HOU Left Fielder #26
Taylor Trammell went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI on Friday evening as the Astros and Nationals played to a 4-4 tie in Grapefruit League action.
Trammell got the Astros on the board with a two-run double in the fourth inning, trimming their deficit to two runs at 4-2. While he’s in camp as a non-roster invitee, given their current outfield mix, Trammell seemingly has a strong shot at earning a bench spot on the team’s Opening Day roster provided he shows well in Grapefruit League play.
  • HOU Pitcher #41
Spencer Arrighetti was knocked around in his Grapefruit League debut on Friday, giving up four runs on three hits and a walk in his two innings of work.
The bulk of the damage done against him came on a three-run blast by Luis García Jr. in the third inning. It wasn’t all bad for Arrighetti though, as he racked up four strikeouts in the outing and made it through without experiencing any lingering elbow issues. His velocity on his fastball checked in at 93.3 mph, which is +0.2 mph from where he sat during the 2025 season. It looks like he has plenty of time to get himself ready before Opening Day, so anticipate Arrighetti having a spot in the Astros’ rotation to begin the season.
  • HOU Pitcher #43
Lance McCullers Jr. was terrific in his Grapefruit League debut on Friday, retiring all three hitters that he faced against the Nationals.
The 32-year-old right-hander needed just eight pitches to retire CJ Abrams, Jacob Young and Dylan Crews in succession. He worked exclusively out of the stretch in this one and averaged 94.0 mph on his fastball, a big jump from the 91.5 mph that he averaged during the 2025 season. It remains to be seen if he’ll be given an opportunity to start or if he’ll be utilized out of the bullpen to open the season. Either way, a return to relevance from a fantasy perspective seems unlikely.
  • MIL Infield #3
Joey Ortiz went 3-for-3 and scored a pair of runs as the Brewers bested the White Sox 5-2 in Cactus League play on Friday afternoon.
Ortiz singled in the fifth inning and raced around to score on an RBI double off the bat of Brice Turang. He also singled in the seventh and was driven in by William Contreras. The 27-year-old is off to a hot start this spring, hitting .429 (6-for-14) with a pair of RBI and two stolen bases. He’ll need to keep it up to maintain the starting gig at shortstop with top prospect Jett Williams on his heels.
  • MIL Shortstop #2
Luis Rengifo went 2-for-3 and swatted his first home run as a member of the Brewers in Friday’s Cactus League victory over the White Sox.
Rengifo did his damage off of White Sox’ starter Sean Burke in the third inning, launching a sinker for a 345-foot (105.3 mph EV) solo shot. He also drove in a run with an RBI single in the fourth inning that gave the Brewers a 3-2 lead. It appears as though the versatile 29-year-old is the favorite to open the season as the Brewers’ starting third baseman. If that’s the case, his blend of power and speed makes him a worthwhile late-round target for fantasy purposes as a middle infield option.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #40
Brandon Sproat had mixed results in his Cactus League debut against the White Sox on Friday, giving up one run on three hits in 1 1/3 innings.
The 25-year-old right-hander recorded three of his four outs via the strikeout while also issuing one walk in the ballgame. Sproat allowed an RBI single to Edgar Quero in the opening inning but was able to escape further damage by picking him off of first base. He then issued a walk and a single after striking out Jarred Kelenic to start the second but the Brewers’ bullpen stepped up and stranded both inherited runners. Sproat got six whiffs on 35 pitches in the game, registering an elite CSW of 43 percent. He’s fighting against a very crowded rotation mix to start the season, but if Sproat earns an opportunity his ability to miss bats makes him very interesting for fantasy purposes.
  • CWS Catcher #7
Edgar Quero went 2-for-3 with a double and drove in both of the White Sox’ runs in a losing effort against the Brewers on Friday.
The 22-year-old backstop opened the scoring in the ballgame with an RBI single off of Brandon Sproat in the top half of the first inning. He then added a run-scoring double off of Abner Uribe in the third inning that made it 2-0. Unfortunately, that would be the extent of their offense in the game. Quero is off to a blistering start this spring, hitting .538 (7-for-13) with a whopping eight RBI.
