Rule 5 pick Cesar Cabral Cesar Cabral will undergo X-rays and an MRI on his left (pitching) elbow.
Cabral’s arm is in a sling, so he doesn’t appear to be dealing with just garden-variety soreness. Fighting for a spot as a lefty specialist in the Bombers bullpen, Cabral has had a solid spring, posting a 1.74 ERA and 12/1 K/BB ratio in 10 1/3 innings. It looks like it could all be for naught, however.

Peter Lambert shut out the Dodgers for seven innings, allowing just three hits, to earn a win for the Astros in a 2-1 game Tuesday.
Lambert gave up 10 hard-hit balls and had just a 17 percent CSW tonight, but these aren’t the 2025 Dodgers, at least not right now. Lambert moved to 2-2 with a 2.42 ERA. He’s gone 22 1/3 innings without allowing a homer this year, which is pretty good for someone who gave up one every 5.4 innings in 35 starts and 39 relief appearances with the Rockies. He’ll probably make his next start Monday against the Mariners, though the Astros do have the option of moving him up to Sunday in Cincinnati.
Target Red Sox’ Anthony for trade amid injury
Provided he doesn't get bad news about his hand, Roman Anthony could be a good buy-low candidate in fantasy baseball.
  • HOU Relief Pitcher #74
Bryan King picked up his third save after allowing one run between the eighth and ninth innings Tuesday against the Dodgers.
King gave up a double and a single in the eighth to bring the Dodgers within one run, but the Astros stuck with him in the ninth and he allowed only a one-hit single before closing out the game. He’s now matched Enyel De Los Santos with his third save. Both guys might have a little value until Josh Hader returns.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #17
Shohei Ohtani pitched seven innings of two-run ball Tuesday in a loss to the Astros.
The runs came on homers from Christian Walker in the second and Braden Shewmake in the third. Shewmake’s was a 337-footer that would have left only four ballparks. Ohtani allowed just two other hits, walked none and struck out eight. The homers were the first two he’s allowed this year, and he’s still given up just four earned runs through 37 innings. He’ll likely make his next start next Tuesday against the Giants, and he should be back in the lineup as a DH on Wednesday after being excluded tonight.
  • HOU 2nd Baseman #28
Inserted into the Astros lineup after Carlos Correa was scratched, Braden Shewmake went 2-for-3 and homered off Shohei Ohtani in the win over the Dodgers.
Shewmake’s homer on a 99-mph fastball was a 337-footer into the Crawford Boxes. Statcast said it would have been a homer in four ballparks, but it was a pretty impressive piece of hitting regardless. It was his third homer in 85 plate appearances as a major leaguer. He’s 4-for-13 with two homers since the Astros added him, but most likely, he’ll still be demoted when Jeremy Peña returns.
  • LAD Left Fielder #37
Teoscar Hernández finished 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in a loss to the Astros on Tuesday.
Hernández hit .310 with four homers in his first 16 games, but he’s at .169 with no homers in 16 games since. His bat speed is down a little for the second year in a row, and he’s striking out more than usual. Hitting in the middle of an excellent lineup will keep him relevant for fantasy purposes, but it doesn’t look like the Hernández of 2024 is about to reemerge.
  • AZ 2nd Baseman #4
Ketel Marte went 2-for-5 with a triple, two runs scored, and two RBI in Arizona’s 9-0 win over the Pirates on Tuesday.
Marte was in a bit of a skid, going hitless over his last three games. He broke through with a triple in the first inning and scored the team’s first run. He added a base hit in the eighth to drive in a run and extend the D-backs’ lead. The 32-year-old second baseman is hitting .221/.277/.374 with five homers, 19 runs scored, and 13 RBI across 141 plate appearances.
  • AZ Left Fielder #12
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went 1-for-1 with three walks and a run scored against the Pirates on Tuesday.
Gurriel has been hot at the plate after a slow start coming off the ACL injury. After collecting multiple hits in four of his last six games, he reached four times on Tuesday with three walks and a base hit. The 32-year-old outfielder is now hitting .250/.340/.295 with four runs scored and four RBI across 50 plate appearances.
  • AZ Starting Pitcher #57
Eduardo Rodriguez tossed seven shutout innings while striking out seven batters in a win over the Pirates on Tuesday.
Rodriguez was dominant against the Pirates on Tuesday, spinning seven scoreless innings on 103 pitches, 65 for strikes. He scattered two hits and issued three walks while striking out seven batters on 15 whiffs. The 33-year-old left-hander ends the day with a 2.50 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and a 29/19 K/BB ratio across 39 2/3 innings. He’ll take on the Mets in Arizona on Sunday.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #36
Bubba Chandler allowed two runs with four strikeouts over five innings in a loss against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
The Diamondbacks got to Chandler right away, putting two runs on the board in the first inning on two hits, three walks, and a sacrifice fly. He didn’t allow another hit over four more scoreless frames, but did issue three more walks. He struck out four. The 23-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 4.76 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and a 31/26 K/BB ratio across 34 innings. He’ll need to start limiting walks if he’s to maintain some level of success and consistency in the majors. Chandler lines up for his next start against the Giants in San Francisco on Sunday.
  • ATL 1st Baseman #28
Matt Olson went 2-for-3 with a home run and two runs scored in Atlanta’s 3-2 victory over the Mariners on Tuesday.
Olson has been on fire at the dish. He kept it going on Tuesday with a base hit and a run scored in the fourth inning before taking Andrés Muñoz deep for a solo homer in the ninth to give the Braves the lead. It was his sixth home run in nine games. The 32-year-old slugger is up to 13 while hitting .308/.392/.695 with 35 runs scored and 33 RBI across 166 plate appearances.
