Poreda had a decent 3.38 ERA in 13 1/3 innings out of the Rangers’ bullpen earlier this season. The 27-year-old left-hander will pitch in middle relief.

Shea Langeliers had a two-run homer and a double off Andrew Abbott as the A’s crushed the Reds 12-4 on Sunday.

Langeliers has hit first, second, fifth and third in his four starts over the last week. The last two of those came with Jacob Wilson leading off, which seems to be the big question in the Athletics’ lineup at the moment. If Wilson hits lower in the order, Langeliers would probably bat second behind Nick Kurtz in the leadoff spot. If Wilson leads off, then Langeliers might bat fifth against righties, with Tyler Soderstrom occupying the cleanup spot.

With Luis Morales stumbling out of the gate, Ginn’s chances of making the A’s rotation are increasing. He’s pitched five scoreless innings to date, allowing only one hit in the process.

Gage Jump

ATH Starting Pitcher

A’s prospect Gage Jump pitched two scoreless innings and struck out three Sunday against the Reds.

All three strikeouts came on his fastball, which topped out at 98.1 mph today. The 73rd overall pick in the 2024 draft, Jump has little chance of breaking camp with the A’s, but a summer arrival is possible. He had a 3.64 ERA in 19 starts and one relief appearance after moving up to Double-A last year.

Andrew Abbott

CIN Starting Pitcher #41

Andrew Abbott was tagged for four runs in 2 2/3 innings by the Athletics on Sunday.

The last two runs came after he was pulled with two outs in the third. Abbott has an 11.57 ERA after two turns this spring, but no one will care much about that. He seems like a poor value pick in mixed leagues after a strong 2025 season that wasn’t really backed up by his peripherals, but spring performance will have nothing to do with that.

Nathaniel Lowe

CIN 1st Baseman #37

Nathaniel Lowe hit a 460-foot homer off the Athletics’ Nick Anderson on Sunday.

Lowe did his former Rays teammate dirty as both try to make teams while on minor league deals this spring. Lowe doesn’t really make any sense for the Reds unless they send Sal Stewart down, and they really should not do that. Still, another team might want him as a first baseman against righties, depending on how the spring shakes out.

Dane Myers

CIN Outfield #17

Dane Myers went 2-for-3 with a homer against the A’s on Sunday.

Myers, who was acquired from the Marlins in late December, is off to a 5-for-11 start as he works to secure a spot in Cincinnati’s outfield as a starter against lefties. He should get the gig, but he does have an option year left if the team wants to send him down.

Angels optioned LHP Sam Aldegheri to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Aldegheri gets the boot from the active roster a little earlier than expected, but it was always unlikely that he was going to make the active roster. The 24-year-old will get a chance to help the Angels at some point in 2026.

Angels optioned OF Matthew Lugo to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Lugo was a common option/recall in 2025, and it’s no surprise he’ll open the 2026 season — barring something unforeseeable — in Triple-A Salt Lake. It also won’t be a surprise if he’s one of the first names the Angels call up when they need reinforcements.

Athletics optioned RHP Eduarniel Nuñez to Triple-A Las Vegas and RHP Henry Baez to Double-A Midland and reassigned LHP Wei-En Lin, LHP Domingo Robles, RHP A.J Causey, RHP JJ Goss, RHP Kenya Huggins RHP Yunior Tur, C Shane McGuire; and INF Joey Meneses to their minor league camp.

Nuñez was awful in his limited action in 2025 with a 7.11 ERA and 1.90 WHIP over 10 appearances. The 26-year-old will likely be an up-and-down option for the A’s in 2026.

Jacob deGrom

TEX Pitcher #48

Rangers manager Skip Schumaker told reporters that Jacob deGrom’s spring debut will come “really soon.”

This comes after deGrom threw a 30-pitch side session. The goal according to Schumaker is for deGrom to make three-to-four spring training starts before the regular season. The 37-year-old was fantastic in 2025 with a 2.97 ERA and 185/37 K/BB over his 172 2/3 innings, and as long as he can stay healthy, he still has the stuff to be a fantasy stalwart.
